Hi, I´m thinking to betray to assasin with my ranger cause I heard that they to 25% more DPS on raids...Would be great if you could give me some raidlogs with your max dps...Also you could give me some reasons why an assasine does more dps than a ranger.with kindest regards and sorry for my non-perfect english

Message Edited by Vindorus on 08-15-2006 07:54 AM

I've rambled on about this before but I betrayed my ranger and saw an immediate difference in dps on a parse level, though I was at lvl 60 at the time. It's even more pronounced at lvl 67 with Perfectionist. From personal experience in casual raid guild our rangers tend to do well but get out dpsed by our Assassins, Conjuror and Swash/Brigs by a bit. Even put into a group set up made specifically to optimize his dps he parsed lower, this can partly be attributed to the fact that he doesnt havea uber bow (since they are so rare) .Advice for rangers looking to betray in coles notes form-Look at Assassin skills and abilites, read the boards both ranger and assassin forums (make posts like this one). Talk to assassin and rangers guildies if possible. Make an informed decision. Realize that there is a change in playstyles from range to melee as well as aesthetic aspects like Bright sunny Qeynos to dark brooding FP.- Do it before you get lvl 70 and start getting masters and adept III's and class specific gear.-The betrayal/faction grind quests will take a lot of time and are boring to the power of 10. Almost painful enough to make you regret starting it. It's truly frustrating especially when you get to that bloody dog 'Buddy'. Not to mention the hassle of transferring everything while inbetween houses. Be ready for the grind.- Have money. Even getting set up with Adept 1's will set you back a plat or two. It's a big move, look at it from all angles. It would suck to make the switch with all the effort invovled only to realize you hate playing an assassin and miss your ranger.

My ranger reached lv 32 2 weeks ago so it´s no big thing to betray. I tried to do some of the factionquests and this was the last time I betrayed I think.....deleted the character and made an assasin. I usually play a zerker (just look at the amazing signature ) and I´m used to be a melee...okay I hope I don´t have to tank with my new scout .

i had always intended on playing an assassin, hence i betrayed at 15. Sad that I'm not the only froglok assassin in FP these days tho You should concentrate on playing something something you like, rather than something that parses slightly higher in a raid scenario.

I'm looking real forward to finally have YOU move into shifting positions after the tank, not the other way round As an assassin you have to move around quite a bit, and play close attention to distance and the direction you and the mob are facing.. nothing at all like your old-fashioned zerker (which I still think should more often be in the melee group than tanking :smileyvery-happy:)
