To maximize your DPS? Yup. Perfectionist and max melee/spell crits is the way to go.

Hate to derail the thread here but, I've looked all over these forums for the answer to my question and i cant find it. I understand that str int is the way to go to maximize dps, but what order should i go in, should i go down str or int first as i level up?

It's not really going to matter in the end, I went STR first so I could get Perfectionist sooner. If you plan on soloing a lot, I'd probably go INT for the damage sheild type buff we get in that line.

Jblaze2 wrote:so it's 4-4-4-8-8 in str and 4-4-4-8 in int?

which leaves you one left over. i used it to buff int so i'm 4-4-4-8-8 (str) / 5-4-4-8 (int)

Bit off topic but EQ2 AAs suck, only really one build that is best for every class, no variaty of choice that distinguishes players which is what AAs were supposed to do in the first place. I don't know of an assassin who is has not gone str and int line with perfectionist.

That's why we might be getting class specific AAs soon!
Message Edited by MystaSkratch on 08-14-2006 04:46 PM

That it makes such a difference that people believe there are no other viable alternatives ever tells me that the system has failed to deliver on its intent. Which was exactly what I thought would happen. :smileyindifferent:

Well good on ya then for being different. To clear things up, I was referring to the fact that there is only really one build for a particular type of gameplay, and I was referring to raids. I can only think of like 3 builds in total that would be even considered viable for a type of gameplay, and trust me I did have a good look at them all for a long time to whoever said it is simply a notion a lot of us have. And believe it or not, 95% of assassins do go str and int because that is the best way to maximise your dps, and those not going down those two just suggests to me they are not totally interested in dps as your main job as an assassin which would seem odd to me. Maybe it's the WoW side of me talking, as I am being converted, they literally have like 30 builds you can have for a particular type of gameplay, there's like 15 builds I can do depending on what I like doing in pvp combat for example.

Message Edited by SmEaGoLLuM86 on 08-16-2006 03:35 AM

On the next point, I'm going to respec my AAs and put 4-4-4-4-8 in the STR line and go from there.

well if anyone played eq1, their aa's were even worse... it got to the point that rangers couldn't get a group without Endless Quiver, Archery Master 3, & something else (i think... may've just been those two) and then there were restrictions for raids if you didn't have mass group buff, etc... so far i've never been told I can't group cause i don't have my aa's maxed... or to a point even yes I've gone down & finally finished my str line (4-4-4-8- and intend to do int the way everyone else has... but that's because i want to crit as much as possible on everything possible...

As a pvp assassin, I like the last skill on the int line. Though I don't have the points to use it, I plan on as soon as I can.
