ranger or assassin?

<DIV>    If you are playing on PvE, you should definately make an assassin. Ranger's DPS is very poor in comparison of Assassins in the end game. Assassins do much more damage and have hate transfer, apply poison, and the highest hitting ability in the game(with debuffs on), Decapitate. Rangers on the other hand, offer very little in helpful buffs for the group, and do considerably lower DPS. Although, they do get an attack hawk. lol<BR><BR>    However, if you are planning on playing PvP, I believe Ranger's have a big advantage due to their multitude of snares, roots, and ranged attacks. But, Assassins get big hits when they are at high levels, so it depends on if you want to stop and PvP alot or level. Overall though, I'm going to have to suggest Assassin.</DIV>

about 10-15% DPS and assassins have utility that is useful in groups and raids.  Rangers have zero utility and dont do anything but DPS.<div></div>

As a former ranger that betrayed, I'd agree with the previous posters, I would highly recommend assassin.

Going from Ranger to Assassin on Nagafen, I can safely say that I like Assassins a whole lot more than Rangers in PvP. Yes, you can attack from aways with a Ranger, but nothing can be casted while moving. Assassins get two huge bow attacks that you can move while casting. When playing a Ranger, if they get close might as well jump off a mountian because you're done.<div></div>
