Poison question

<DIV>Just a quick question which I "think" I know the answer to but wanted to ask the professionals.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have noticed that when using 2 poisons after a couple of hours of casual play (soloing mobs for quests etc) when I examine my poison buffs there is a huge disparity between usages left. 1 might have 25 charges left, the other 55. Both poisons state they have the same % chance to proc but this doesn't seem to ring true.  It almost seems like the game checks proc chance on a successful hit, and if 1st poison procs then it doesn't check the 2nd proc chance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe I am missing something hence my question to you professional Asaassins (my main is a necro so I have limited knowledge of melee procs).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any information appreciated.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sark on behalf of Slaene.</DIV>

I assume you mean effect (blue) and debuff (purple) poisons.. at least, that's the colors in T7.  To be honest, I usually notice those 2 wear off around the same time, but not <EM>at</EM> the same time.  I'm pretty sure they can both proc on the same attack, if you have your spells in a tab or something, you can check it.  Maybe I'll have to pay attention to it...

<P>I'll have to take your word for it on the colours as I am colour blind. But yes I have used a couple of effect poisons with the same proc percentage and found that they can get widely apart if number of procs left. Is there a way to tell in logs when a poison buff proc fires. Its simple enough to check for the damage proc either in the chat spam or in the log later. But am I missing a poison effect msg along ther lines of "A strifewing ransacker looks weakened by your poison" ??</P> <P>Sark on behalf of Slaene.  </P>

<P>Yup, you're looking for this:  <IMG src="http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1/Mystaskratch/poison-1.jpg"></P> <P>It's under Spells > you cast for options.  It's how I know the deagro ones work (ones like warding ebb have an icon in your maintained window)</P>

<P>Thanks, thats the sort of info I needed to know what to look for now. Probably doesn't show up on my parser as it has no damage component, just the debuff. I will actually load up my logfile and have a read, see whats happening.</P> <P>Sark on behalf of Slaene.</P>

Not sure if you ahve had your question answered yet but it may be becuase some posions have a duration liek 1min15sec and wont proc again until its about up and others liek the direct damage posion will proc every 4th hit.

well this seems to be as good a spot as any... when u guys are maxed out on int and str AA lines do u use the Dot or DD poison to get the most dps? and why?<div></div>

<P>Personally I use DD poisons...  The reason is that 1 of 2 things will happen when using the DOT points...  1.  The mob dies before enough ticks of the DOT to equal the damage done by the DD poison....  2.  The DOT poison overwrirtes its self before the original DOT wears off....</P> <P>As Skratch has said in another post, if you use long delay weapons, you get alot of poison procs...  that will equate to alot of poison damage if your using DD poisons...</P> <P> </P> <P>Gwern - 70  Assassin - Kithicor</P>
