<DIV>Ok, first, I love the assassin and even though I feel terrible at it right now I desperately am trying to make it work. I have other classes I play, my necro being the highest (Nagafen only now), so I know how to play the game and at one point I was doing exceptional with my assassin. Now, I feel horrid.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The last time I played mine was before the LU24 for the most part. I got caught up helping my guild with some HQ's and leveling my necro, went off and got married in RL and did a ton of crafting. Before the LU I was cruising, just bought some L20 pristine chainmail armor, had some nice L20 weapons made, got evac and then went on vacation. At that time I could chop through a yellow con no arrow mob with ease.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I log on last week and it seems all of a sudden I can barely take blues and whites in the upper tunnels of splitpaw. I mean they get me down to the red. I figure maybe I am just rusty, so I practice for a few hours and get my rythm back then same thing. So I think, maybe it's just those mobs changed (some feel harder now) so I go try Lair of the Necromancer and even just some random mobs in Nektulos. Same thing, I just feel week.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I look at my combat log and it seems most everything is either parried or hitting for less then 75 dmg. I was shocked since most of my best CA's are all suppossed to hit for many hundreds (all adept 1 or higher). I next check my stats, see that my str is only 55 and my agi is like 77. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can't remember what it was before the LU, but I did search up the same armor on the broker and found they had drastically different stats. So, I spent another 50g upgrading all my gear and I think I ended up with near 100 for str and agi. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That made a noticeable difference in my soling the same mobs in the upper tunnels, but still I feel a little weaker. Maybe it's just eh point I am at or sadly I might just suck now with the assassin. I find that hard to swallow though, I have the rythm down and I am not missing any of my styles when I play, I am just not killing very well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't really care about pride at this point lol, I just love my assassin and don't want to stop playing him, but i can't continue like that it will take forever to catch my friends and play with them. I have tried all manner of things and I am just not sure what the problem is at this point. Maybe it's my technique....</DIV> <DIV><BR>Most fights I lead with the bow shots, then run through my "anytime" CA's and then Stun and work ont he back and stealth CA's.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyone else have a similar experience or some advice? Like I said, I don't want to quit, but I am really stuck right now. If I have to I guess I will get all Adept 3, but I thought Adept 1 would be fine. I only get to play my assassin on a few days a week because I have to be on main for other days, so I don't get a regular group often.</DIV>

Yeah certain armor changed in LU24 (particularly crafted)Str rings also lost the double whammy they used to give (used to give enourmous amts of str).......Other than that.....no idea<div></div>

(( when my level 9 left Refuge or Overlords isle whatever, she had 83 str. by level 10 she had 95 str. Get your STR up and get it up q uickly. by mid 20s you should have atleast 150, by level 31-34 you should have 200. at level 50 try for 300 in str. ignore other stats, its just crap. STR is where you are lacking and STR will solve your damage problems. at level 68 (solo not grouped) i hav ejust under 400str, and thats VERY sad, i need to work on that =( trick is just finding gear that doesnt screw you over in all departments just for STr, but ggives niec str nonetheless<div></div>

<P>While strenght is an important stat for Assassin's, do not ignor your mitagtion. If your grouping it is not such a big deal but as a soloer its your most important stat (even more so than str imo). If your mitagation is poor you won't last long against yellow's mobs while soloing. My surgestion is improve mit, it should help and while i understand you had some new crafted armor made it could be worth you taking alook at whats avail on the broker for your level. I know you did this already but i'm betting you were not looking at the mitagtion values just the stats, it could be worth taking another look even if its just to see where are you are mit wise vs treasured armor. Handcrafted player made armor sucks for mitagtion and most treasured will serve you better (i'm assuming you don't have the mastercrafted armor here). </P> <P>Another possability could be the posion your using (or lack of it) make sure to get atleast some player made for your level (ie level 20 posion for players 20 - 29) i see so many poison using scouts running around with posion from the wrong tier on, or even no poison at all. The mastercrafted posion is nice but can add up price wise and if your short on coin isn't really needed but its nice to have if you can. Again this should be available on the broker.</P> <P>Imo doing these 2 things alone should improve the solo play of your Assassin no end. </P> <P>One thing i thought of is what stance are you soloing in, i find soloing in defensive stance help's alot. It could also be that having just been playing your necro alot then comming back to your assassin you feel weak compared. Necro's are one of the best solo classes out there so playing an Assassin will feel weak after. Assassins are very poor at soloing yellow + mobs i had problems with them (this is true for all scouts as we are so item depenant). This is espcially true of grouped solo encounters, which i belive make up alot of the encounters in SP (i don't own splitpaw so i could be wrong about this), we are alot better at soloing single mobs than grouped encounters (solo ones) and imo the best way for assassins to progress solo is to tackle even/blue con solo mobs, our kill rate is fast and these mobs don't do much damage against us before they are dead. Cheap shot and the backstab with the stifle (forget the name off hand) are your best soloing tools, use them well.</P> <P>Hope this helps.</P><p>Message Edited by Roast22 on <span class=date_text>07-15-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:52 PM</span>
