<DIV>  We recently had a round robin dueling role play event for our guild.  It was single elimination, and the final two people was a ranger and me.  He got his stun off first, brought me down to under 100 hit points with his next bow attack.  Then, I got my stun off and assassinated him in one shot.  It was one of the quickest fights of the day, but the most exciting for the 50 or so people we had in attendance watching.  The other fights I was in during the day, was a little longer.  Especially the 60 tanks I had to duel, sucks when they absorb your assassinate or deathly blade, and you have to switch tactics.  I didn't get to duel any 60 casters though, and only 1 or 2 healers.  But it was still nice, to be an assassin that day.</DIV>

Heh, thanks Alza, on the grats.  If I was on Lavastorm, I would track you down and well, ummm throw rocks at you and sprint off.  I don't think we had any bruisers in our contest.  <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />   But for tanks, we had Sks, Berzerker, Guardians, and monks.  Although, some of them were in high 50s, and not quite 60 yet.  Which, those level differences do make a hugh difference.  Alot of people sent me tells, swearing vengence on me, when they gained those last few levels.  We have another planned here in a month or so.  Should be interesting.  As well as having some games in the arena for three man and four man teams versus each other from within the guild.  Kind of nice having these games, once in awhile in a bigger guild.  Something a little different then raiding again, or out doing that mind numbing harvesting to try and get more adept 3s. <p>Message Edited by Salat on <span class=date_text>11-17-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:29 PM</span>

Yea, dueling is fun <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I just started playing my assassin again and he is much harder to duel with than my bruiser, my bruiser I just throw up an anti-stun so I cant be cheapshot, stun them, and unleash. Also a vision totem of butterfly makes it so they cant go invisi on me which helps a lot.

<div></div>How did he not kill you if he got the stun in first? He must have screwed something up. Also did you have assassinate up for each fight? So all the fighters were lower level than you? Cos assassins have the most probs against fighters (and no probs against mages hehe). Other than that well done <span>:smileyhappy:</span> <div></div><p>Message Edited by SmEaGoLLuM86 on <span class=date_text>11-19-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:41 PM</span>

He didnt kill me cause I have pretty good mitigation and decent hp.  I was left with literally under 100 hps.  For on lookers, it was just a smidge of red below my name.  Keep in mind though, rangers big bow attack roots them after using it for a second.  Which allowed me to run up and stun him back, then use my assassinate.  As far as having assassinate up for each fight no.  I used it twice out of the 5 people I dueled before him.  Assassinate doesnt work too well on those tanks.  So, I mainly use our slow on them, and keep my distance.  I come in using concealment to get off a few quick frontal stealth attacks in that 3 seconds, then back to slowing them and using the bow.  Coming back in for a cheap shot, surveil, and condeming blade from front at times and using our longer casting stealth ((forget the name)) now and them to break their targeting if they cant see stealth.  Which can allow me to move quickly to get one of our back bow attacks off.  Cripple is great also since it no longer breaks stealth when used from behind.  Tanks with bows are different strategy, which I usually wait to see what method they are going to try and use on me.  Most people seem to set their minds up at the start, "Well I am a tank, and I am going to tank him up close."    I like those tanks, cause that slow method works well on them.  Usually doesnt dawn on them till halfway through the duel to use their bow and give up trying to tank me.  The ones that decide to use their ranged abil on me first, is a matter of me taking the chance of getting up close and hoping the stun poison and cheap shot work and just going all out dps on them with that slow on them as well.  Against bruisers, this doesnt work well with their immune stun abil.  But if you can land stifle on them, concealment, and a flurry of high damage attacks while jumping around them, it is possible.  The reason I say jumping around them, is if they lose targeting its hard for them to get it back, especially if you keep randomly appearing in different spots around them.   But keep in mind, garrote, punch blade, condeming blade, and assassinate can all be used in stealth from any position and not just from behind or flanking.   60 Sks are just a pain in general, since they have that pet, that is not targetable in a duel by the other player.  Which means, if it is on you, and is hitting you, you are not going into stealth and there is nothing you can do to stop it.  Plus, there is a ring in game, that allows people to see stelath now, which also will destroy our dps abils in duels.  Sad that a ring completely negates our ability to duel people.  Its the same as telling a tank, well you can only use half your armor against us, or a healer, that they cant heal.  I believe you get the ring from a long series of quests, so its not some fabled drop that only one or two people on server can get, but rather anyone with enough time and patience.

<DIV>I was there watchin Salat =) and rooting him on from within the Officer Channel.  I had to be a BIT non-biased as an officer, but secretly I wanted Salat to wipe the floor with the ranger.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>He is right though... the ranger got off the first attack at range and left Salat with just a sliver of health left.  I thought it was over for him right there, but that stun broke just in time to let Salat rush in, throw down a stun, jump to the oposite side and assassinate the ranger.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It was a wicked fight.  Lasted only about 10 seconds or so, but it really was a teeth clencher in how close Salat came to death.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sad to say... i got my butt handed to me two times.  Once by an Illusionist who completely shut my Wizard down.  Had me mezzed and stifled the entire time, and I couldnt get anything thrown (yeah.. it was a stupid move to fight a chanter as a mage).  Then I fought a 60 SK who owned me as well.  Got off my initial stifle and then my stun, but she got out that pet, and since it is non targetable for rooting, stifling, stunning, slowing, or attacking, it tore me apart.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So two losses there.  Then I went up against a 60 Berserker in a really close match.  Paralyzed and rooted straight off, then threw out the nukes and kited him as much as possible until he remembered about his bow skills.  Brought him down into the deep red, but by that time the bow attacks were wearing on me.  He brought me down finally, and he was almost dead as well.  Was a good fight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hopefully the next time we fight, I can have my Assassin up to 60, or near 60, and can take on Salat.  I know that my Wizard is just about 60 now, so that will give me that much more time to grind Salma up to the end.  She already has her Cobalt armor and weapons ready to go, as well as some nice fabled gear i've set aside for when she reaches T6.  So she should be very well outfitted when the time comes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Cant wait to give Salat a go =).</DIV>
