<DIV>Just after some helpful responces regarding these questions as I have started an assassin to be.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1) There are a few posts here and there, but none really fit the raiding theme, I am after a list of the most useful training options for a raiding assassin. Either advising which are most useful for the end game or divulging which training options you chose (10, 20, 30, 40). As I already have 3 lvl 50s (sad I know) I am after the training options <EM>which will still be used at lvl 50</EM>. If there aren't any at a specific tier then which would be most useful for its duration while leveling up. Two of my 50s are a swashy and a defiler and their class defining training options start as early as the lvl 10 one so having the experiece, I am asking of this favour.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2) What is the assassin's main in combat sneak at lvl 50? And also its cast and recast times.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3) What is the predator's lvl 35 spell/ca from the bloodlines, and what does it do?</DIV> <P><FONT size=2>Thanks for your responces.</FONT></P><p>Message Edited by SmEaGoLLuM86 on <span class=date_text>08-02-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:34 PM</span>

<P>Main in combat sneaks at 50 are using mask of night and surveil.</P> <P>Bloodlines gives you honed reflexes which is a short duration haste.</P> <P>When it comes to a training skill I don't really think any one skill stands out honestly. Eolorns is kinda nice at 40 but it doesnt really give you anything over disappear at 50. Elaa's throat rip and Vladmin's Slaughtersault have some potential depending on how the combat changes go and all. The one I liked the most was Elaa's perforating slice which in the 30s was great because it was on a shorter refresh from assassins blade but post 40 condemning blade really became the better long term art to use. The same goes with the lower level versions they are often decent for their tier but they don't have a long term impact really.</P>

I see, so none of the training options are used at 50 other than the lvl 40 one? The reason I ask is on my defiler every single training option is used at 50 is you chose the right ones, and with my warlock the 10, 30 and 40 ones are used at 50 and with my swashy, the class defning in combat sneak is actually chosen at the lvl 10 training option and I feel for those who didn't know about it and didn't choose it.

We are a damage class first and foremost with little utility so it makes sense that nothing is really long lasting though. With everything sharing the same timers as the skill its supposed to upgrade then it only makes sense they get replaced every so often. A class like a defiler or templar on the other hand is all utility and the choices you make even at level 10 or 20 do play a big part later in game but this is how the class is set up whereas an assassin is just meant to be more of a damage machine.

i play an inquisitor along with my assassin and i know what you mean about choosing the right training options. the lvl 10 inquis pick is super important too, but as khalysta said, none of the assassin trainings seem to have any use for posterity.

<DIV>Any assassin who didn't choose harkin's torture at level 40 should be shot by their guildmates.</DIV>

So there is a Combat Training I use other then the level 40 sneak (instant cast) one. Hager's Befuddling Strike (level 20) actually uses a different timer then all my other combat attacks (including cut, insidious cut, infected wound, etc). So I use it to chain HO's while soloing. I basically hit all my attacks, and when all my keys are dark I chain my HO's with HBS. The strike it self only hits for around 40 to 50, but Ringing Blow hits for around 150 on average I believe, not sure Ill have to watch it next time. ~Thetmes 49 DE Assassin Draconic Legion, Unrest <div></div>

<DIV>Hagar's befuddling strike is an upgrade to quickstrike with an added 5 second stifle. It's your level 10 training option, not 20.</DIV>

<P>The training options affect dps classes as well khalysta hehe. The swashy's class defining in combat sneak is in the lvl 10 training option and two of the warlock's main nukes at 50 are the lvl 30 and 40 training options unless you have the masters of their predecesors. So the training options are very important for most classes but it doesn't seems to be the case for assassins which is fine. I did choose the quick strike upgrade though. A combat art which stifles is always nice, pity it doesn't affect epic targets though.</P>

<P>Still having an additional stifle, especially one usuable easily front the front is a good thing.</P> <P>For assassins, the only training skill that actuall really means anything is Harkin's Torture. The 5 spell avoidance debuff is just huge. Knock down these epic mobs a level in spell avoidance and it allows your defilers a better chance of landing their debuffs. Then the mob is just easy pickens.</P>

<DIV>Got to agree stick with Harkin's Torture at lvl 40. Why? Currently having 2 assassin's in a raid is a pain in the [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]. Because a lot of skills block one another. One of these skills is Anethema. So if you use Harkin's Torture while the other Assassin uses Anethema they won't necessarily stack but you will almost always have a debuff on the mob.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Plus the 5 lower spell mitigation is nice when u are grouped with casters.</DIV>

speaking of stifle, how long does the stifle effect from Slice Throat/Garrote last for? does it have the same effect as Haggar's or does it stifle more somehow?

There's a zero power usage quick strike upgrade early on as well which can be handy if for whatver reason your power dies out. WIll give you a good shot at getting off an HO per power tick, hopefully ringing blow. <div></div>

Keep in mind when it comes to this thread that spell avoidance is pretty much a thing of the past so Harkins is likely to change soon when they redo the training abilities(which havent been done yet). So when you get your /respec you might want to look close at the descriptions now for some changes.

<DIV>As far as Harkin's goes.... It seems that the need to have it will be a thing of the past as well. One of the major changes is the ability to stack same line debuffs if there are 2 of the same class.</DIV> <DIV>I suppose that means you won't see the "....no effect" message when applying the same debuff as a same lvl assassin anymore.</DIV>

With the loss of spell avoidance (combat changes) we get a new /respec. Until then, Harkin's torture is still [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] important.. and who knows, it may just be changed to lower their wisdom and that does the same thing.
