Breaking 3K

<DIV>I have been at this for a while, i have the highest hit on my server at 2898dmg with Cblade adept3, i was wondering for those of you that have broken 3K, did you have Cblade at master1, or adept3. Im just wondering how you guys have done it, ive consistantly hit around 2.6K-2.8K, but i can never break that 3K mark.</DIV>

<DIV>I bet that most if not all of those hit had 1 troubador, 1 dirge, 1 mystic or similar makeup in the group.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Plus.  If your always starting a fight using CBlade thats your problem,  the mob need to be debuffed v. piercing first.  This can easily add a couple hundred poins of dmg.</DIV>

<P>I usually wait till the mob is about 50% in a raid, then use Bloodthirster, anathema, cripple, infected wound, punch blade, then buff my str with creeping impetus, then use Cblade. So whats this about the str bonuses, i must have missed that patch a while back.</P> <P> </P>

<DIV>I can pretty consistently hit around 2.4k damage, but cant even break into 2500 mark. i have adept3 cblade and nice gear including prismatic and a few nice fabled pieces, over 200 str and agi self buffed, but i cant seem to get above 2500.</DIV>

<P>All it takes is lots of classes that boost your strength in your group a master CB and be in a raid and do it on a ^ mob...why because they get debuffed and debuffed hard you use your debuffs and BAM your getting a high hit...thats how i got my 2706 hit and I over 476 strength which added almost (this is from top of my head try to remember) 400-450 damage to my CB</P> <P> </P>

<div></div>Ekard is usually hitting for a reliable 2.5k with CB. Yes I'm using a Master I on him. Self-buffed strength is around 230, nothing amazing. Group buffed its usually almost 300 and raid buffed its easily over the mid 300s. There seems to be a respectable dmg boost again over 300 str (appears that way with agi as well to my inspection, maybe 300 is the new 200 after the str bonus nerf ages ago -- nerfed bonuses after each 100 points of strength for those of you who forgot or just don't know). I hit for 2.9k and 3.1k in the same night on two different raid mobs that are not pierce immune. We didn't have a brigand in raid so the pierce mitigation could probably have been lowered even more for a higher hit. The high hits were incidental, with all of the raid combat spam I missed the 3.1k until I hit the 2.9k later that night (which would have been a personal best and server #1) which prompted me to check eq2players rankings. I had to sift through my logs to find out who I had hit for 3.1k earlier that night. Of course I make a cycle though all of my debuffs before hitting with CB, and its usually after aggro has been well established so the mob is well under control and everyone is concentrating their debuffs on it as well. If my guild would waste the buff classes necessary to get me into the mid 400 str range I'm sure CB Master I could make a more impressive showing. Alas I don't have that option at the moment. With CB Adept 3 I was already at 2.7k in an xp group at 47 with nowhere near 200 str months after the strength nerf, I'd be surprised if the Master I didn't have a good deal more mileage on it yet. Looking at the charts it looks like there is a sub-3k tier of assassin high-hits among the raiding assassins using CB Adept III. Then there is a just over 3k tier of (probably better equipped, better buffed, and well mixed raid groups) who may or may not have the CB Master I. Above that there seems to be a tier of assassins hitting in the mid-3000s -- I can only speculate that they are either making groups specifically to maximize their HH, are much better equipped/buffed than those in the tier below, or travel in groups featuring the majority of the pierce debuffs that the game offers. Does any certain raid mob in particular drop CB master or is it like super random drop that when it drops YOUR like OMG FREAGIN HOLY MULY GIVE THAT TO ME NBG ALL THE WAY WOOT LOOT!!!! and than the other assassin who is super ill equpped below is like hey lets roll for it and he wins and your like NOOO MY CHANCE FOR HITS OVER 3K IS GONE.!!!! (sorry for caps that just what i would see if that happened in a raid but yeah seriously what drops this)

I wasn't present when my CB Master I was looted although I'm told it dropped off of something in The Obelisk of Lost Souls. I've never seen another CB Master on my server and am unsure if that is where the majority drop. I don't believe it is an x3/x4 epic mob as there was only a single group running TOOLS when they announced the find, I was pretty lucky being the only Assassin online at that time to make an offer on it. <div></div>

  I didn't loot mine either, I was doing my hourly broker check one night and saw it for sale for 1p and snatched it up.  I didn't catch the persons name or I would have sent him a few more plat because I felt kinda sorry for him.  He obviously didn't know what he had.    In a successful attempt to taunt one particular assassin on my server, I put the master on the broker that night before i went to bed for 999p so he would see it.  When I loged on the next day I got a lot of tells wanting to buy it lol,  including one for 40p.  I turned it down with a smile though <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />   I know on my server the some what similar swashbuckler master, cat's paw, dropped from the tempered in RoV, so maybe you might check there too. <div></div>

I looted my copy from Nek Castle as part of the Aroma of the Undead quest.  It's only a lvl38 spell so you do need to target mobs in the appropriate range to get even a chance at it. <div></div>

i recently hit the 2995  mark under adept3 condemn  so  breaking 3k without master 1 is  very possible.   i pulled it off just fighting during a raid in spiritsof the lost.  didnt get a  buff/debuff  group together or anything just a normal raid.  with a different  group setup with a bit more str and 3k woulda been pretty easy to achive. <div></div>

I was in a nek2 group, fighting a ghost in the hallway, and it just happened.  My prior high hit was ~2900, and I've yet to break 3100 since then even after increasing my amounts of strength via gear immensely.  I was grouped with a zerker, bard, and mystic.  (and didn't even have avatar on when I made that hit).  Also something interesting of note.  After getting that hit, and requesting avatar, therefore taking my strength to nearly 500, inspecting condemning blade showed ~3350 for its max damage.</P> <P>If somehow I got in a similar group, I suppose it would be possible with my current gear to go for the world high record, or come very close to it.  Maybe add in a fury, or other classes that could buff my strength, and I could go for it.</P> <P>Oh, and it was a master 1 version of course..
