After the latest Ask SOE #37 we can finally see how things are "supposed" to be(at least in theory). Predators make the first group with the wizzies and warlocks. There is likely going to be some differences between the sorcerors and predators but its good to see in theory how everyone is finally meant to be split up.

Steve "Moorgard" Danuser: Without giving the precise DPS numbers we intend each class to have, I can list how the classes will relate to one another in damage output. There are basically five groupings that classes fall into, from highest amount of damage output to the lowest.

First group:

Wizard/Warlock

Assassin/Ranger

Second group:

Conjurer/Necromancer (using damage pet)

Brigand/Swashbuckler

Third group:

Coercer/Illusionist, Conjurer/Necromancer (using tank pet)

Troubador/Dirge

Bruiser/Monk

Fourth group:

Berserker/Shadowknight

Paladin/Guardian

Fifth group:

Fury/Warden

Defiler/Mystic

Inquisitor/Templar

Message Edited by khalysta on 06-22-2005 09:43 PM

Nice to see that they intend scouts to deal damage. Let's see if they can actually make it happen now.

They want illusionist to be better DPS than gard / zerk / SK / Pal ? i'm really curious on how they are going to do that :smileyvery-happy:

i'm also glad to see that wasn't the old caveat of 'dps doesn't happen in a vacuum' attached. this seems to be personal dps aside from any enhancement to others' dps. i like that they've separated the two.

OMG they better make taunts and/or evade skills better. I spend most of the epic fights trying not to draw agro as it is.

very nice, can't wait for this to happen =)

I dont' have a problem that illusionist being more dps than SKs and berserker, since they wear paper, and most of the time mez is overrated in EQ2 (sometimes i told them not to mez so i can AE, especially when i play my inquisitor, cuz i says "Mez is for [Removed for Content]") So at least the little DPS improves to the illusionist can give them something more than stupid mez and crack

I can see chanters being upset. I think they expected a lot more (being second only to predators as far as scouts go).

As someone who is a Swashbuckler and working on an Assassin on the side, I really dont mind that Assassins are Teir 1 and Swashes are Teir 2. I think this is fair.

I'll take my mez and the ability not to have to be dependent on another class for group stealth over a slightly higher DPS teir any day. But I guess this decision can be based on who you play with and how versatile you like to be.
