I just noticed something very peculiar barely 30 minutes ago about Assassin's Mark. At first I thought the agonizing strike icon (not the 1-1/2min assn mark buff icon, but the one that appears when it procs) in maintained window was changed from the bluish blade in grey/black background to the assassin blade icon in red background, same as the hotbar icon. I saw it counting down from 10secs as usual. The next thing I know, that icon was gone and the old greyblack one pops out, also counting 10secs. Another time i used it, the red version popped up for less than a split second before being replaced by the greyblack one. Yet another time, the red one just popped up and count down to 0, but when I checked my combat data, there was no damage entry at all on agonizing strike for that period. (in other words, it didnt actually activate successfully) So I decided to examine the skill again and I don't remember it being described like this : * Casts Agonizing Strike on target. When target is struck this spell has 2% chance to: -- * Cast Agonizing Strike on attacker. On successful attack this spell will: ---- * Inflict 209-349 damage on target ---- * Decrease health of target by 249-415 every 4 seconds. :smileyindifferent: uh... ? Initially I read it as - assn mark casts agstrike on target yeah, but when i hit a lucky 2% , i get to cast ag strike again? but on me? and when i attack again sucessfully THEN I get to do the mark damage specified? One can actually not have it fire the damage even if one got it to proc... is that what it means? It doesn't make sense. I really do not understand why there is this extra, and totally unnecessary step added to the spell out of the blue.

Ok, when you first put AM on the target, you'll see the maintained icon there. Then if you or the group get lucky on the 3% hit, the blade icon with the red background will replace the AM icon on your maintained window (you're the only one that will see it, no matter who hits the 3%). The next successful hit then initiates the DoT, and the person who triggered it is the one who sees the blade on the grey background.

:smileyvery-happy:

not that all of this stuff matters though ..
