Which weapons actually hit a raid mob for you guys? Ebon weapons? Sabre of the Void? SBD? PGT? Those four weapons that I just mentioned are the highest in my inventory so far. If ya'll can post some weapons that have hit raid targets for you, this will help me and others get an idea of what weapons we need to invest in so we can be of use on raids.

as far as I know any Legendary high level weapon. If youre fighting T6 epic reptillian creatures :smileyvery-happy: any t5 rare crafted or heritage weapon should do it.

PGT is too low level I think, but SBD works.

As long as the mob isn't immune to that particular weapon type, any Legendary or Fabled weapon should hit just about any raid mob you can find

I remember hearing something about weapons that start with a capitol name can hit epic encounters.. not sure if that holds any merit however.

Your ability to land a melee strike on any mob (epic or otherwise) depends on 4 things: 1. Mob immunities - If a mob is immune to slashing, you won't hit that mob with a slashing weapon (not even prismatics). The same applies for the other melee damage types. 2. Level of the weapon - If you try to hit Darathar with the PGT, you will recieve a message about it being "too primitive". While the PGT is a great weapon. On high level epic mobs, it's not gonna cut mustard. 3. Your skill level - If you have 10 levels in slashing skill, you're not going to be hitting a level 50 mob for slashing damage. 4. Attack damage type - Examine your skills. If it reads "inflicts XXX piercing damage", then you won't hit a piercing immune mob with that attack skill no matter what weapon type you use. This is a great handicap for assassins at the moment, b/c several of our big attacks cause piercing damage. Alot has been said about the type of weapon you are using (crafted, legendary, fabled, etc.) I have yet to see any evidence to support this assertion. What I have noticed: The lunar ornate spear is fabled and will hit mobs that are not immune to piercing, however, the pristine forged ebon leafblade is crafted (but legendary) and will always hit the same mobs as the spear. I'll try the bone razor on a level 50+ epic mob as an experiment (it's treasured). Anyway, hope this helps some. My advise is to obtain 2 fabled weapons of both slashing and piercing damage types. Easier said than done, but this would solve atleast some of the problems.

Message Edited by Synne on 04-19-2005 08:20 AM

well I can assure you that weapon rarity plays a huge role Go ahead.. just try hitting any named heroic mob with a store bought weapon. Or one of those new "solo loot" ones.. they wont work. Your other points are valid though

Also watch out as the whole treasuredlegendary boundery is a bit blurred from what i've seen. The bone razor and a simple dropped ebon sai both are treasured however the bone razor will hit raid mobs while the ebon sai will not.
