View Full Version : Assassin Damage Output
<DIV> <DIV>Here is my view on what the stats do, stats in general have 2 functions.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-If its your classes main stat it increases your power pool</DIV> <DIV>-It has its normal effect </DIV> <DIV> * Strength = higher attack rating</DIV> <DIV> * Agility = Avoidance</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The problem imo is scouts have a very low strength meaning their attack rating is very poor compared to a fighter type, the higher attack rating the more ac is ignored when you hit a target, often meaning where you would have only hit for 50 you now hit for 100 because you ignored a higher amount of the targets ac. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Agility is now only really a valid power source since the nerf and does very little in terms of avoidance for scouts whereas for fighters it still seems to increase avoidance greatly, in example my bruiser friend has 75%+avoidance (my avoidance being 59%) with roughly the same mitigation as me even though i have 25 or so more agility.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A nice fix to this that may help would be to link attack rating to agility for scouts rather then strength, all of this is from my own experience by changing armour types, i have yet to see my attack rating increase from adding agility, only strength.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>The above i cut and pasted from another thread i posted on, i just wanted to know peoples thoughts on this, personally i think this is why our dps is so low sometimes, right now at level 46 a level 43 bruiser friend has 50+ higher attack rating then me, yes he has higher strength but i have tried to create a balance of strength and agility with my gear and its about the best it could be without losing huge chunks of power.</STRONG></DIV></DIV>
<DIV>I actually did a /respec last oppertunity that I had, to give myself more STR. Since now at Lv50, any time Im grouped up.. My agi is usally buffed 230+ easily with a Bard / Druid type. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I also purchased a nifty Ruby imbued STR ring & some Frights dolls, to get all I could. At 200 str.. my unbuffed Atk is around 900 +/- a couple. Toss in a Swindlers Luck Ho and your looking at around 920+atk... Stack MV with the new 3min haste buff along with Murderous Focus and with "auto attack" alone, I can dish out 150dps+ ( Mind you thats with poison and two proc weapons ) </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So if your looking to get all you can get and have a decent amount of AGI, start raising your STR. Youll notice the difference <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

At level 44 with 200 unbuffed agi and 90 unbuffed str, I'm parsing 170-220 dps with player made poisons, CA's, and one adpet 3 in Faltering Blast (manual start and stop on the parsing timers for accuracy - no manastone setting off timer early etc). Either way, I have posted about this before also. Basically, to sum up my thoughts...:: DEFENSE ::Armor Rating = MitigationAgility = AvoidanceThen.... why shouldn't the following be true based on that...:: OFFENSE ::Strength = Amount of damage dealt vs. target's MITIGATION.Agility = Chance to hit vs. target's AVOIDANCE.Should be like this for all characters, IMHO. It's logical. If I'm strong I can hit you hard. If I'm agile I can hit you accurately. Makes more sense.
<DIV>Just with ( auto attack ) I can dish out 150+dps... Thats with, self haste buffs / poison / duel proc weapons. But the use of no " In combat " CA's. With the use of CA's in combat.. Im usally around 190 - 220 on an avg. fight. </DIV>

<DIV>From the day of the agility nerf, when I noticed agility no longer seem to do anything, I readjusted my character to be strength based. I try to get gear that increase strength first, agility second. I'm supposed to be a dps class, might as well up the stat that helps us deal damage...</DIV>

<P>I just put in a /feedback report about this last night before reading this. I'm really glad to know that other scouts realize this is an issue with our dps compared to fighters. I also have to agree with what was said about strength and mitigation and then agility to avoidance. That makes the most sense to me and it would at least help to balance out our base melee damage to fighters, which I think is a big difference.</P>
