I use it anyways just cause i am used to using it in my order of abilities. it says extreme damage but i see nothing extreme about it. IMO the abil is utterly broken

<DIV>Yes Cim, the nice thing to do would be to share the knowledge you apparently have, as you seem to be in the vast minority of thinking that AM actually does anything. What does it do for you?</DIV><p>Message Edited by Aftermath_336 on <span class=date_text>01-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:11 AM</span>

The consensus has been that the ability is not doing anything. You are the first person to claim it works (other than speculation), let alone 'well'.

<DIV>It works, its just not as spectacular as its made out to be.</DIV> <DIV>You'll hit for more damage for a short time, but its only around 10-15 more, depending on what combat ability you use while its in effect.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I"ve noticed sneak attack or shrouded strike hit for around 70-ought vs. the 60 ought without it as an example.</DIV>

<DIV>I think Assasins MArk shows up as swipe attacks in your log. ít is like 13-21 damage for me once in a while</DIV>

I think swipe attacks are your parry.Assasins mark does help. It may make a regular attack hit for 90 instead of 40 or so, but it doesn't make a huge deal about it, it just increases your damage. I have not seen it work yet on assasins/ebon blade yet, that is where I would love to see a massive increase. Assasins mark still helps, and I use it on every fight that is going to last over 5 seconds.

<DIV>Yeah, I get Swipe counters even when I'm not using Assassin's Mark.  I think it's the Blade Furry doing that.</DIV>

Searching this board for "Assassin's Mark" comes up with quite a few posts where people question if it even works or not and no one really comming forward with any sort of real evidance. Likewise, scout sites like The Scout's Sanctuary also report it appears to be a do nothing ability. Some people will report bigger normal hits (like in the 90s vs normal 10s and 20s) and further invesitgation reveals it was from a riposte. So, please produce your research crawl back under your bridge like a good little troll. =)Swipe is definatly blade flurry.

<DIV>It would be nice if Assassins Mark showed up in the maintained abilities like Vex does to give you some idea that its doing something.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Belgarog</DIV> <DIV>27th Lvl Ratonga Assassin</DIV> <DIV>Antonia Bayle</DIV>

Well for what it's worth, the mark animation now seems to be slightly different from before.Or am I the only idiot who feels that way? <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Anyway, riposte'd attacks and bladeflurry swipes are usually the cause for players thinking mark actually works. It would be nice if we get some confirmation from the devs on it, like maybe a list of arts that are currently borked.

<DIV>Assassins mark does work and I tested it. I had blade flurry OFF, went up to a sand stone giant, casted assassin mark ap3 and just auto attacked. Twice during the whole fight I hit for about 40'ish damage compared to my typical 9 to 16 damage. </DIV>

I don't know why, but riposte does much higher damage than a normal attack.

<DIV>Riposte doesnt use a normal melee attack calculation based on your weapon damage.  Instead its just a different calculation altogether so it comes out higher.  Like tataline said though unless you are watching others hits and see the riposte then it will have a look that you are doing high damage when in fact its just a basic riposte.  The fact of the matter is that the skill does not report anything at all.  It's like slaughter up until last week, you could cast it and aggro the mob but nothing happened.  Was this ability working?  No it was obviously broke since it reported no damage but now it does.  So just because you can cast it does not mean it necessarily works.  I think a lot of peoples claims are just a placebo like effect.  You can tell a patient the drug has a certain effect and then people with the sugar pill all think they experience the effect.  this is just how people here are reacting yet there is no undeniable proof in the log files that the skill is in fact working.</DIV>

Go to Combat -> Melee Combat -> Attacker misses. Make sure you have that checked as visible and "ok" the changes. You'll see things like:(1105404199)[Mon Jan 10 16:43:19 2005] a Runnyeye brawler tries to crush YOU, but YOU riposte.(1105404199)[Mon Jan 10 16:43:19 2005] YOU hit a Runnyeye brawler for 75 points of slashing damage.Compared to:(1105404199)[Mon Jan 10 16:43:20 2005] YOU hit a Runnyeye brawler for 14 points of slashing damage.(1105404200)[Mon Jan 10 16:43:21 2005] YOU hit a Runnyeye brawler for 13 points of slashing damage.Turn on your log or even look through your old ones, I think you log everything even if its filtered.

<DIV>So what exactly does Blade Flurry DO?  The description says, "Grants a chance to hit the target and another on every successful hit."  Uhh . . . "and another" . . . and another what?  Another chance to hit the SAME target?  Another chance to hit a DIFFERENT target?  Does it work like an AOE?  Should I not be using this with a mezzer?  Another WHAT?  Sweet GOD, SoE . . . with all the money you put into this game, hire a freakin' writing editor (or three . . . thousand) to catch all the typos, confusing text, and overall bad grammar . . . Engrish man . . .learn some ENGRISH!!!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Charn</DIV>
