<DIV>Howdy</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i just hit lvl 20 with my assassin, and i'm dying to get out of the butt ugly leather crap i've been wearing for 10 lvls, i want to get my hands on some chain armour. However, where should i find it? from the bazaar? from merchants? i'll do the AQ's of course, but i'd like to find a relatively cheap set of chain armour to keep me going.... any quests i can maybe do for a peice of armour here and there?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thanks in advance for any replies. </DIV>

<DIV>I bought a complete set of Pristine forged carbonite Chain from other players.   It seems to do the job really nicely.  I substitute things that are better as I go along but its a great place to start and its good until lvl 30 and has some pretty good stats.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Belgarog</DIV> <DIV>23rd Lvl Ratonga Assassin</DIV> <DIV>Antonia Bayle</DIV>

<DIV>Prices fluctuate daily but on average I got mine for 1gp per piece.  You just have to keep checking.  For a while I was actually getting better prices from the fence then I was through the broker.  Qeynos has a lot more crafters then freeport does.  I'm not sure what server you are on but if you find a craftsman who can make it you can probably make a good deal with them if you get the materials.   If your on Antonia Bayle there is an armorer named Jonas who takes orders.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Belgarog</DIV> <DIV>23rd Lvl Ratonga Assassin</DIV> <DIV>Antonia Bayle</DIV>

<DIV>I made my money as a commodities dealer.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  I braved nektulos forest when I was lower level and gathered raw materials and sold them to players on the market.  Its very exciting dodging all of the red creatures trying to get to the eventide stone just out of reach.  There were a few deaths involved but it pays good.  The down side is it's really hard to see the resource nodes in the forest and sometimes you have to brave going off the path to find them.  I've also made some decent money selling the collection items I've found that I don't need.  I did get jumped by a pack of angry trees once and it literally made me jump out of my seat I was so suprised.  It was amusing because I was harvesting Ash.  I guess they didn't like that at all.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As an Alchemist I also made resins, washes, tempers, and oils for the other crafters and sold them on the market.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Belgarog</DIV> <DIV>23rd Lvl Ratonga Assassin</DIV> <DIV>Antonia Bayle</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>If you search these boards, you'll find that you can do an armor quest starting at level 20 that will give you almost a full set of chain armor.... everything except the helmet.  Talk to the NPC at the forge in the Bow shop in East Freeport.  Takes a few levels to complete, but it's cheaper than spending all that hard earned gold and silver, and will last you for most levels 20-30, or until you can find better.</DIV>

<DIV>The best way to get player made armor is to make a deal with the craftsman, many of them will give great deals if you provide the ingredients which can be substantially cheaper then buying the armor outright.  Also the Cold forged armor you get from the quest caps out at lvl 25 where the carbonite chain at 30.  At least the gloves that I got cap out at 25 not sure about the rest of the pieces as I haven't gotten them yet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Belgarog</DIV> <DIV>23rd Lvl Ratonga Assassin</DIV> <DIV>Antonia Bayle</DIV>

Why waste your money when you have the armor quests? If you want to spend money on items, it will be better spent on the Jewelry side. Anything on the right side of your paperdoll you wont get a quest for specifically. The other stuff I'd just do the quests for. No sense in spending the money if you are planning on doing them.

<DIV>Because the crafted stuff is just as good some argue better, you can buy it whenever you get the cash, it will not turn gray as quickly.  I bought some while I finish the Quested armor that I can turn around and sell later.</DIV>

<DIV>Get down to Edge Water and get a group (AQ4's group there)  Some really nice chain pieces drop quite regularly.</DIV>
