<DIV>Just wondering if they can be substitute tanks in case the main lags or dies or whatever. Are brigands better?</DIV> <DIV>Of course, I'm referring to the freeport contingents.</DIV>

<DIV>Brigand has an advantage with taunts but I don't believe one or the other is meant to tank significantly better unless there are some inherent differences in overall skillcaps at 50.  We are both medium armor classes so while we can tank in a bind it's not really the job of either.</DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2> <P>For a short period, but we require more healing than a MT, and we lose a lot of DPS. So unless it's unavoidable I wouldn't recommend it.</P></FONT></DIV>

Bards also have songs that can increase agro on a target.Really we can't tank for any lenght of time, in an emergancy or maybe one out of a group of small mobs is ok. Scouts are too variable, with buffs up I might avoid 90% of hits from a orange^^ con but then the next time not avoid any. Also while AC may be similar to a tank ther is a huge difference in damage absorbtion between medium and heavy armour.

<DIV>Brigand are by far the best tanks in scout class, they have taunts and abilities that require them to reposte an attack from the mob.  No difference in gear though, its all skill based differences.  Their discriptions is that of an off-tank.  That is why they suffer some when it comes to DPS vs the DPS of an Assassin.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Soulflare on <span class=date_text>12-21-2004</span> <span class=time_text>12:14 PM</span>

<DIV>I'm a Brigand and I'm pretty sure a Swashbuckler would do a better job of tanking than a Brigand, but the difference it pretty small.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've never seen an Assassin try to get aggro in an emergency really. All the ones I've played with were in a hurry to get aggro off, but it could be due to the fact that Assassin Combat Arts are harder to get off, while a Swashbuckler won't lose too much DPS from being in the front, and a Brigand would probably lose less DPS than an Assassin from being in front as well.</DIV>

<DIV>It's dangerous trying to tank with an Assassin.  Out in EL, our tank died and I caught aggro.  Notice that even though I was 2 levels higher than the tank and had better equipment, he took 70-80 dmg per hit while I took 250.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>[Edit]</DIV> <DIV><BR>Obviously the tank had more AC =)</DIV><p>Message Edited by KroviusTuri on <span class=date_text>01-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:56 PM</span>
