View Full Version : what does weapon con mean?

what does it mean when peaople say the color of their weapon? Sorry of this sounds dumb, but I want to make sure I am using the best weapons I can. Right now I am duel weilding 2 pristine carbonite rais. They seem better than standard steel daggers since I cannot find pristine steel daggers. I am level 20 assassin. thanks.

Message Edited by Stymie on 12-19-2004 04:55 AM

weapons, like enemies will have colored writinggrey weapons are very easy to use, their damage wont change, the same for some blue and white weapons.weapons that conn orange, yellow or white however are still being mastered by you, and as you level up you will learn how to better use that weapon, thus dealing more damage with it.youll notice that some weapons will say "10-13 damage (15-20 at 25)" and will have like orange text in the weapon name. this means that for you to master that weapons use you have to get to level 25.usually once weapons start hitting blue/grey you should see if there is something beter for your level, thats what i haev noticed anyway

How it works is once you've leveled past the "Mastery Skill" of a weapon you are much less effective because it's limiting your skill to that level. For example you've got a dagger that has a mastery skill of 100 and you jsut ding level 20 so have a skill of 100. The weapon will con white since it's a perfect match for you and will do it's maximum damage. But ding 21 and now your skill is 105 and the weapon will com blue since your too high for it. Try fighting with it and you'll be limited to an effective 100 skill rather than the 105 you actually have.As you can see if your level 20 and your trying to hit a level 25 mob with a greenblue con weapon your actually only fighting with the skill of a level 17ish player.Bottom line is assassins need the best weapons they can find so buy orange and use till white then replace it the moment they go blue.
