View Full Version : what use is cut throat?
<DIV>Can anyone please explain cut throat? It says "extra attack" what does ectra mean? I tmust be used from stealth mode so I cannot use it and shadow blade at the same time. Once I hit shadow blade, cut throat seems to become useless since not in "stealth mode" anymore.</DIV>
Perhaps it should say 'another attack' instead of an 'extra attack'? Anyway it use is when fighting caster, when you hit it they can't cast for about 10 seconds. If you've ever had to fight a healer you can see where this might be useful.

Aye very handy skill when up against mobs that aoe too
<DIV>Just for referance, this skill is good on all mobs, not just casters. If you use it on casters, they won't be able to use any magic spells for around 10-15 seconds. If you use this on a melee type mob, it won't be able to use any special attacks (like barrage) for 10-15 seconds. This skill is really handy because it can drasicly lower the amount of damage the mob can do for some time. It's also pretty handy for the mobs that like to heal them selfs. They seemt o like to start healing around 40% health, so I just wait until they get that close (40-30%) then I use cut throat on them to stop them from healing for the time being.</DIV>

<DIV>If Stalk is up and Shadowblade/Assassin's Blade/Ebonblade are down, then there's Cutthroat. Also the stiffling effect is nice. </DIV>
<DIV>Don't forget you get Shrouded Strike at 19th which not only hits the target, but places you in stealth mode after the attack. All you need do is use it, turn off melee attack, and you're ready for your Shadow Blade, Assassin's Blade, Ebon Blade, whatever! And Shrouded Strike is on a ten second timer. I use it a LOT. :smileyhappy:</DIV>

<DIV>This skill is one of those skills that puts you over the top as far as either just another scout or a good scout.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Not all classes get a skill/spell with a Stifle component to it so it's handy for us to help the group where we can.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It is also good to say 'Stifled' while your in a group so that others with stifle can use thiers 10 seconds later so they don't waste it while the mob is already stifled.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's particalarily important when you don't have an enchanter and are fighting against Wizards or Healers when you have 4-5 mobs since you can't be fighting them all at once. As previously mentioned though, it can also be of great value against Warrior mobs since they will not be able to Barrage or use special attacks. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Some classes can tap power from mobs, rendering them to only regular melee, but that takes time as well so be sure to stifle as soon as possible if that is the group tactic so the mob can't cast/special while the enchanter is tapping.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>This skill really comes in handy when it comes to caster mobs, as its kinda like a silence type spell/ability. really helpful when you got a relentless runnyeye warlock, defiler AoEing the group to death. Used in conjunction with your cheapshot and vex you can give the group sufficient time to recover from initial blasts from them.</DIV>
