<DIV>oops. hit enter or tab i think and cut off my post</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>anyway what is the deal with bows,  I AM LEVEL 20 ASSASSIN AND HAVE A RAT HUNTER BOW THAT SAYS RANGE 37M. sEEMS BONE BOW, MAPLE BOW ETC HAVE LOWER RANGES.  sorry for caps.   I think bows suk or I am using wrong.  Everytime I use bow it says I am too far away ! What is the deal?  When I fire it off I am practically standing on top of the freaking mobs.  Many times they aggro on me before I can even fire off the bow.  I seem to have to get withing aggro range for the bow to even work.  Someone please tell me.  I hate getting message too far away and yet the mob comes running for me .  I think if you are too far away your bow should not fire the arrows or the arrows should never hit the target and draw aggro on you.  thanks.</DIV>

<DIV>hey also did anyone ever notice a mob charges for you once you even hit fire and long before an arrow actually shoots off towards the mob.  What is up with that?</DIV>

Long bows generally have better ranges than short bows, check the stats and it should tell you. Most will be out of agro range jsut be vary carefull when move up to the mob. And yea it's a pain the mob charges the moment you hit the hotbutton, jsut use ensnare and kite him around a bit.

<DIV>Trying to remember my bow's name, it's crafter made, and a longer range than the rat bow which I carried for a long time. Thing is, a back shot gives me between 150-200, open shot does about 150 combined. So while I like my back attacks better, I've found many times that the bow was more useful when trying to pull a solo from a agro group.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As for the mod attacking you as soon as you press the key, yes, it irrtates me also, but I'll take that over trying to sneak up on a solo standing between to nasty mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>They do have some great uses. You have to be backing up or circling when you use a bow if you do not want to engage the target directly. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Open shot can be used while moving . I use back shot to start, back up with open shot then circle them with ranged attack . I often dont even have to get close to double up arrows until they are yellow or orange , then its an easy kill.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> Engage with skills until open shot is recharged then cheapshot to stun , back up and repeat.....etc..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You do need lots of room so as not to aggro other mobs but it is quite effective ( If funny looking).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also the poison ticks away damage as well.</DIV> <DIV>Love my bow and always use 400-500 arrows per outing (somewhat expensive though)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kalaj </DIV>

<DIV>I love my bow too.  I'm using a pristine ash long bow and I average 200pts on a backshot and also about 150 with open shot.  I use the bow in more open areas where I have room to move backwards and get my open shot off and my shadowblade when in more confined situations.  It's also great for pulling mobs that near other ones and you don't want adds.  I also love cheap shotting them and then running behind them to get an extra back shot off in the middle of a fight.  I normally solo a lot but when I travel with my friends, they play a druid and a warden, I normally get to play tank.  If they draw aggro back shot and open shot are always great for getting it back or peeling the mobs off them.  If they still have agro I can stalk and then get a shadow blade off to and that usually does the trick.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Belgarog</DIV> <DIV>22 Lvl Ratonga Assassin</DIV> <DIV>Antonia Bayle</DIV>
