<DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I like these discussions mainly because I like to swap my weapons around and try different combos.  Normally i would use 2 x Dragoon's at 5-15 1.2delay.  Just recently i was lucky enough to loot a Deathbringers which is like 6-18 at 22 with 1.4 delay.</DIV> <DIV>Now putting this in my main hand, combat skills have increased a fair bit just from going 5-15 to 6-18.... ive always been a true believer of low delay low dmg.. i rarely use anything 1.2 or higher...  All we need is a dps monitor in game =P</DIV>

<DIV>Low Damage Low Delay every time.  Reason?  Blade Flurry and Poison.  Nuff said.</DIV>

<DIV>That is a very sweeping statement. What if you hit your minimum melee swing time (the hardcoded haste cap which no one really knows yet) with weapons that are say 1.5 delay and a few self haste buffs (such as Bleeder's Talent)? Then you are doing yourself out of potential DPS and stats from slower weapons with the same swing time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Someone needs to run some tests <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Semetta Bloodbath</DIV> <DIV>33 Dark Elf Assassin</DIV> <DIV>Crushbone</DIV>

Maybe for skilled attacks slower would be better, poisons it might be better to swing faster, or maybe not depending on the poison you have. I don't think anyone has done a full fledge log parsing check on all the different effects of: STR/AGI/STM/Slow Weap/Fast Weap/AC/... Sooner or later it will be done, but for now I can't tell a differnce between fast and slow weapons, in the end my mob is dead and I am alive (thanks to the help of a lot of you guys).[Edit] I personally am using fast carb stilleto's 1.4 dps I think.<p>Message Edited by Micbator on <span class=date_text>12-10-2004</span> <span class=time_text>08:59 AM</span>

<DIV>Let me clarify my sweeping statement then.  Blade Flurry:  the more you attack the more chances you have of this going off.  Same with the poisons.  However, I do use the red poisons that offer a minimal dot and more DD as I dont want to poison to override itself.  If you use slower weps, you may want to consider the poisons that actually do more damage but take a longer DOT.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, not much has ever been said of the haste cap.  I am sure one exists, but have no idea where its at.  Also, I dont think any of the haste giving items in the game have really been found yet (FBSS anyone?).  But you make a very valid point.  There will be a point of diminishing returns when using low delay weps if you start hitting the haste cap.  That will be the time to consider slower and more damage weps that could take more advantage of haste items/buffs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>However, until those type of things become more commonplace I dont think you can go wrong with lowest delay possible weapons with a decent DPS (add wep min and max damage; divide by 2 for the avg, then divide by delay to get the avg DPS).</DIV>
