View Full Version : So, has anyone found out just what Assassin's Mark does?
<DIV>I got this skill recently and I can't really say that it does much of anything other then putting this neat little graphic on the mob for a second or two. I really can't find any info on the skill other then some old thread where no one has any idea if it's working or not. Just curious if people have figured out just what it does yet.</DIV>

<DIV>Didn't someone say that in the early betas all of the mobs had different hit locations?</DIV> <DIV>So if this skill was intended to mark one of those spots and when you hit that marked spot </DIV> <DIV>you'd have done some extra dmg. But then all hit locations were removed which </DIV> <DIV>might mean that this skill is completely useless.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That leads to one question - Why devs leave such things in the game?</DIV> <DIV>After almost a month after the release the game some how feels like</DIV> <DIV>it would be in a beta stage. This skill should be replaced by a new one or it should</DIV> <DIV>be changed so that after you use it on a mob you would have a noticeable bigger </DIV> <DIV>chance to make a critical hit or something like that.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But I might be wrong..correct me if I am...</DIV>

<DIV>I don't believe there were ever hit locations in beta. </DIV>

If it *wasn't* designed that way, then there is no question that needs to be asked about leaving abilities in the game after a key component that it needed was removed (at least, not in this case). <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

It might say you hit them in the arm or leg but you just did generic damage just like you do now.<BR>

<DIV>Have no idea of the skill is working as intended. Bought an Adept 1 for it anyway on the off chance that it is working but we just dont get a message when it does. Usually only get to use it on very tough or boss mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Does it work? I have no empirical evidence that it does, but my gut feeling is that its doing something.</DIV>

i believe it increases the damage potential done by critical hits. not entirely sure.when i cast it on a mob though they seem to die faster than when not...like everyone, i cast it anyway and cross fingers, but im thinking it is a bit [Removed for Content].

<DIV>Has anyone ever performed a critical hit? It's listed as an option in the UI chat colors, yet I've never seen a single one. Are they just abnormally damaging normal hits that are not otherwise marked in any way (obviously the UI chat color does nothing)? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So far I haven't even bothered using Assassin's Mark. </DIV>

<DIV>21<B>Assassin's Mark</B> Assassination 0.8s 0.5s 1 min. 0 Creates an extremely vulnerable point on the target. If any attacks strike that point, the target takes extreme damage.</DIV>

<DIV>My guestimate is that this skill increases the chance of critical hits.</DIV>

<DIV>When I first got this skill I didn't notice it doing much.</DIV> <DIV>After a little leveling (around 23) and some weapon upgrades I decided to try it out again.</DIV> <DIV>I can only tell that it makes a difference by the fact that I can kill similar mobs much faster when using it.</DIV> <DIV>When I say much faster I mean MUCH faster. What might have taken me half my life and 2/3 my power without the mark was only taking me 1/4 life and 1/3 power with the mark.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think the increase in damage is proportional to the max damage you are capable of. So if you are using low damage weapons, you may want to consider upgrading to something better then try it again. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As a side note, I have noticed that the damage of a weapon is only part of what determines the damage output. I have used weapons that had 6-18 damage but con green to me and done less damage than a 4-12 that conned orange.</DIV>
