View Full Version : So what am I doing wrong?
<DIV>I have assassin envy. I was in The Wailing Caves last night and just stealthing around minding my own business when I happened upon another predator that was lvl 12. I am 13 by the way. He popped right next to me and scared me so I turned around to see the battle. This guy was doing serious damage. I mean like 15 to 25 every hit while using 2 handed spears. I have the generic spears that I got off the vendor and they looked the same but I don;t get that much damage out of them. What gives? I do at the most 12 - 13 points of dam. He took down those double up orc skells like they were nothing. To me they are blue so they have to be white to him and I have a hell of a time taking one down muchless 2.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So what am I doing wrong? Did I miss something? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks,</DIV>

Maybe he was getting party buffy, used poison on his weapons, had slightly better weapons then you.. chances are you are not doing anything wrong at all.. although the WC with lvl 12 or 13 is valiant, at least.

<DIV>Could be any or a combination of the following:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. He has better gear. This makes a huge differance at the early levels. Some of the quest weapons you can get very much outperform those generic spears you speak of.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. He has better tactics. Finding out how to maximize your damage in a fight is a process. I always use my des buff first, stealth up, backstab then start HOs. I only use my HOs on my stronger attacks, like Impale and Bleed. I hit Pierce after the HO resolves as its on a faster timer. I also turn melee attack off, hit the stun attack, jump behind them and hit them with a flank attak mid-battle. Once you get this type of button mashing, leaping all over, attack style down you will see how effective it can be.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. Mobs are easier to solo at the low levels. Trust me, by the time you hit 20 I highly doubt any predator/assassin could take a blue/white double up arrow mob. It would rip through you like no tomorrow.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Our class is pretty strong, but we certainly cant solo like some of the other classes. We perform best in a group with a tank that can keep a mobs attention while we carve our initials in its flank.</DIV>
<DIV>Im currently a Lv22 Assassin with decent gear... I was in FG last night Solo'ing 18 ^^ without any issues. My Agi is 75 so they can barely touch me. I dont really get too much exp but its raises my parry / defense. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
