Since I dont have 100 AA's yet I decided to go for Double Arrow first and everything was all and well but once I had that I didn't feel all that more powerful so I was checking for what to go for next and Extension caught my eye so I wanted to give it a try respeced and speced for Extension instead and now im out kiting mobs and I must say it makes me feel more powerful then with the Double Arrow. For one I keep the mob at a much large distance from me and I rarely never get hit by the mob im kiting it's so much easier with the Raincaller, Feathering poison and Snaring Shot to keep that nasty mob from me only con atm is that I sometimes get a little carried away and my kiting area gets to big that I accidently run into adds and screw up the original kite and I also lost some dps since im missing some extra dmg from the multishot tree and not to meantion Double Arrow.A couple of fun things I have found with Extension thou is that shortbows now have a range of 28,8m longbows get 40.2m and the Bow of the Seering Missle can really reach out and thouch the mobs at 51.7m which I must admit makes for a pretty spectacular opening of Combat Arts against the mob since I get of almost all my CA's before the mob is even half way towards me especially if I open with Sniper Shot and Snaring Shot is usually up again for an additional volley of CA's before the mobs is down.My question thou is to you guys is if anyone else have gone for Extension and think it is a valid choice or should I respec back to the multishot tree and keep going for dps first and hold of on this pretty cool AA? My final aim either way is to have Extension and Double Arrow just wonder which one you guys think is the most important of the two?<div></div>
<P>I went for the doubleshot first and I am working towards extension now. Reasoning for me was I'm nearly always in the sweet spot anyways so I want extension for the additional increase to hit. I could care less about the range increase. In addition I am hoping the to hit bonus will mitigate the loss of accuracy due to the upcoming change to arrows, specifically broadhead arrows which are said to have a higher damage rating, lower range and lower accuracy. My bet, and hope, is that the negatives brought about by using broadhead arrows will be offset by extension thereby allowing me to squeeze out a little more dps. But I am still glad I took doubleshot first. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </P> <P>Hope that helped. </P> <P>Brega, 70 Ranger Test Server</P>

For solo, maybe extension first. But like the above poster said, I group and raid so I dont care about the distance. Waht i want extension for is the % to hit increase. I went double attack first for the increase in DPS. That is the most important thing to me for my raiding. And I did see a jump from 1200 DPS to about 1500-1600 DPS with double attack. Dont forget you are raising the damage of all your arts on the way to double attack. In the end, any ranger should really have both extension and double attack IMHO. Which you get first is up to you.<div></div>
I was going up the Multi-Shot line first, but respeced to the focus line as well. And Double attack does not double your CAs, it has no chance to do a double attack on CA only Auto-Attack.Also the focus tree is alot of dps increase in itself. Making your temporary buffs longer is a great gain as it means more crits.<div></div>

<P>I initially went down the Extension line (18 AA's I think) and completed it.. as soon as I got the necessary AA's (21 in Ranger) to /respec all the way to the end in the Double Arrow line, I did. My thoughts (and no, I did not put the math to it) were that the benefits before the final ability in the Extension line > than those in the Double Arrow line. does extension work on your melee CA's too? or only ranged. wondering if it allowed your sweet spot to be moved a tad farther from the mob.<div></div>
Only Ranged, both AA (weapon range) and CA (set range)<div></div>

is there a visable change to range of bow after you get extension... or will the bow still say 35meters?... and is there a buff icon that appears on your buffs window like you get for double arrow?
Extension does not affect the actual written range of your bow, so you cannot see it by examining it, but you can by examining all your CAs and your bow will be auto attacking at that range, which is 40.2 meters.I have not tested it out with Bow of Searing Misiles, but guessing it will be auto attacking at an ever longer range, of course it doesn't affect CAs so..<div></div>
