I haven't posted on here much, but I read the forums (particularly the Ranger forum) at some point about every day. But I've gotten to the point where I don't have fun being a ranger anymore. The reasons are ones I'm sure everyone is familiar with.... arrows, crappy melee dps, so forth. What REALLY bugs me though is it's hard to stand out when in the T7 lvl chat there are a dozen rangers at any given moment LFG. There are too [I cannot control my vocabulary] many rangers on my server, and I'm sick of it. On every pick up raid there are 4 or 5 rangers. No raid needs more than 2, except maybe Talendor (he's SO easy when everyone can just chill outside his AoE area). My gear is usually on par or better than many rangers I'm with, but for the most part I'm just one in the crowd. I spend hours looking for groups, and when I finally weasel my way into one (and half the time there is already another ranger in the group) it either breaks up 20 mins later OR, worst case scenario, I'm with a bunch of arrtarding jackbags. The last dozen times I went into MMCC to try and get my class sleeves, the group has gotten their [Removed for Content] kicked when someone ran into a room for a shiny and agro'd everything in there, or for any of a dozen other reasons. The most insulting thing happened today, where while we were clearing out space to take the named in MMCC, and a SOLO 70 SK was stealing the named mobs from us. He was winning the fights at 80% health remaining. I'm not the best kiter, but even green heroics are tough for me to solo and I need a marathon's worth of running room. This guy was blasting these named mobs away like it was nothing at all. I'm not screaming for a nerf here, I'm just annoyed that this guy can do that, whereas I can't even find a group that can make it to the Butler room without wiping.

So in summary Decap > Sniper's Shot, arrow summoning blows [I cannot control my vocabulary], and ranger masters cost too much in a world where a lone SK can farm them in MMCC.Time to go make a SK. God I hate Freeport.

Its usually just crappy DPS.

Anyways, Im going to recap your post just to make sure I understand it.

Im giving up my ranger because... there are too many other rangers out there, that drives up the cost of ranger gear and masters to a point at which I can not afford that, and to buy poisons and arrows. The pickup groups I usually end up in suck, and it must be because of all the rangers on my server. After all, anyting thats wrong with EQ2 must directly tie into Rangers. So I saw an SK, that knew how to play his class, totally kick [I cannot control my vocabulary] in the catacombs... now thats going to be my new FOTM. Because.. wel.. they pwn... or at least that guy did. And finally, Decap and Snipers should be equal.... arrows should be free... and those [I cannot control my vocabulary] rangers are still jacking up the prices of masters.

/sarcasm off

You really have much to learn. First of all, if you think you are going to roll up an SK, level it to 70.. and take your xegonite wearing butt into a zone and clean house, you have another thing coming. I've played with what I would consider one of the single best SKs in the game. Amazing DPS.. he'd most likely make you cry. Just because you see a plate tank doing something you cant, you think you should be able to do it as well? hahah Go read the SK forums for awhile. Most of them arent happy. The few that are, know how to play their class. Ive never played and SK, nor do I have a desire to play one, but from the SKs Ive played with in the past.. they come in 2 flavors... good.. and bad.. and when its bad, its really ugly.

Im not going to comment on how it is you play your class... cause I dont know, and I dont care. I dont know how decked out your toon is, but when soloing, It makes a difference. My guess is... if you are still looking for masters, you must have just made it to 70. Cause when things were really bad for rangers, and no high end raid guilds would recruit one... ranger masters could have been had for a few plat (in most cases... Rain not included in this). In fact, I would venture to bet, you could still have gotten those ranger masters for cheap... IF they wouldnt have allowed ppl to break down masters and turn them into Adornments. Thats prolly where the skyrocketing prices started.

Finally.. and Im really really tired of saying this. Snipers will never be equal to Decap. Deal with it. You arent even in the same Tier. You cant compare Snipers (55 or 57 i forget Ancient Teaching of T6) with Decap (Level 70 assassin). Its not even remotely close. I just want to shake ppl that think they should be equal (and maybe smack em once for good measure)

Your server is filled with rangers? Dear god why? We suck. Our dps is crap compared to our sister class. No one wants to take us on raids. No one will group with us. We can't solo green heroics. Our arrows cost tons of plat. My masters are the cheapest on broker. I saw two T7 rangers on at the same time one day and I almost fainted. It was so weird being 1 of 3! I figured maybe rangers were making a comeback, but it only happened that one time. They were probably just checking their mail or something on their long retired alts. Now I could see having the dime-a-dozen problem with a fury because they are great. But a ranger? Who wants to be a ranger?

I can understand what he's saying, but disagree a bit. Our masters don't cost too much, you just have to spend to much money elsewhere to play.I agree with him a lot.
