If you trawl through all the ranger and assasin forum threads then you should find all the info you need.From what I hear though, rangers are pretty good in PvP.

<div></div>I never played PvP but my ranger duels pretty well (which is different, I know).  As for the difference between rangers and assasins I guess the major one would be that rangers hit things from far away while assasins have to sneak up behind them.  For pvp I think a ranger would be better because while an assasin would only get in one good hit a ranger has numerous abilities to keep the other player at a distance to deal more damage without getting hurt.<div></div><p>Message Edited by pinkdove80 on <span class=date_text>01-24-2007</span> <span class=time_text>09:49 AM</span>

In PvP assassins > rangers in lower tiers, and rangers > assassins in higher tiers.  When you get to T6, an assassins only real advantage is assassinate, and in T7 it's decap.  Other than those two abilities assassins are pretty weak.  Without getting hit with decap, I'm pretty much able to kill any assassin in a 1v1, with the exception of one on our server who is really skilled.  Rangers can kite anybody in T7, giving them a huge advantage.  Assassins have to get in melee range to do their high damage, which makes them more vulnerable to getting hit back.

T7 Ranger owns T7 Assassins in pvp. Outside of duel setups, Assassins have little to no chance of beating a decent-good played Ranger.  However there are other things you have to watch for.. atleast on my server..  Miracles.  every T7 Assassin I ever fight have miracles ready, namely Vengeance. So yeah, if you think of it as faction vs faction then.. T7 Assassins have Decap, Killing Blade, Jugular and Freezing Strike as their main attacks and Vengeance as their clutch win.  T7 Rangers have Veiled Fire, Vines / Snaring Shot, Triple Volley, Devitalizing Arrow as their main attacks and i'd guess Tunare's Root as their clutch win.  <div></div>

<P>  It's all about killing in style when it comes to the pvp ranger.  As far as cloaks go, i use Inny's cloak solo for the fear proc and Rallos cloak in groups for the dps proc.  Yes, i am an exiled ranger, but many other things about pvp are similar to you poor qeynosians.  The key in the higher levels to pvp is not just how fast you hit your buttons or what order, but the gear you choose to equip.  Go with manacles of dark sky on the arms for the stifles, raincaller for stuns, use snare or stupefying poisons and no one gets close enough to hurt ya.  There's many more things that make a huge difference, but mainly, you want to just be able to kite.  Another fun option is the Quellious cloak, which procs a daze.  Nothing funnier then watching people stare at you while moving like a slug and unable to use a CA, Spell or even autoattck while you hit focus aim and crit for 2k a hit.  Oh...and always keep your track up and totems refreshed.</P> <P>Good Hunting,</P> <P>Nagous</P> <P>70 exiled ranger of Den Of Madness</P> <P>Venekor server</P>
