Hello everyone. I'm a level 70 Ranger with 74 AP's currently and I am in a raiding guild. We raid 3 nights a week and just a few weeks ago finished our DT access. I'm pretty sure I have the worst luck when it comes to winning gear, although I have managed to win Silver Bracelet of Rage and Ancient Velium Kris . The rest of my gear is a combination of Legendary (KOS Era) and Treasured (KOS Era). With my most used adventure gear (Balanced DPS gear) I am sitting at 507 STR, 122 INT, 406 AGI, and 48 Haste. As far as my AP's I've taken, I did 4,4,4,8,1 AGI and 5,4,4,8 INT in the Predator Tree and so far I've done 5 Caustic, 3 Dance of Trees, 5 Pathfinding (Gotta Move Fast ), 5 Precise Shot, 5 Slection, 1 Triple Volley. For my bow I'm still using Grizzfazzle's.

Okay, enough with the summary. The reason I'm posting is my guild leader asked us all to make a list of what gear we wanted from raids so that she could plan specific raids to try to go after loot for specific people. What specific gear should I be looking to get and where is it located? I know I'll want a T8 arrow summoning bow, and another T7 Fabled bow with a high DR. A few of the pics I've seen in this forum show some pretty neat DW swords and I'm open to suggestions on those too because mine aren't all that great. I'm currently working on getting a set of the Predator Class armor from EOF, but currently I haven't been successful. Any suggestions you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I'm basically looking for fabled/legendary drops that are in two categories: a) easily obtained for a short term upgrade and b) more difficult to obtain but to is something I'm going to really want eventually

Bazkul/Ichorstrand are the t8 bows you lookin for, and if you ask me you want Ichorstrand/Warbow I believe is a 98DR that combo there is a really good one fairly easy to get with a raiding guild now by easy I don't mean get it to drop by easy I meant the mob to take down is fairly easy with the right classes.

Basically it really depends on what route you wanna go to for the armor, Fabled ranger set seems to be a nice choice as with all 7 pieces you get a +10% DA mod. Possibly some of the best stats just no extra stuff like +ranged as far as ive seen that has been the only problem with it, the other route is just the randomly good gear again you can easily get but it will all take a while either way.

Of course I want the Fabled Ranger Set, but I guess I forgot to be more specific. I don't think we will be doing the EOF raids for quite a while as we are still working on mastering the KOS raids, so any gear that I would be getting would be coming from KOS for now. Thanks for your tip on the bows and yes I understand that "Easy" doesn't mean it's going to drop.

www.eq2-compendium.com has alot of the mobs and such that drop the gear your looking for, i'm still looking for that stupid set of wu's pantaloons. But this definatly helped me make my "hit list" so to speak

In terms of KoS gear you want to start in Labs and get the Nemesis gear. It is pretty good but the legs and boots have intelligence so IMHO those are the best peices. The Fearling Tot Bulb Bone from Lyceaum is a great help with +29 str and +29 Int and +ranged I beleive. The Ring of Retenkalier (sp?) is nice with +7 ranged but then you have o give up a MC crafted imbued ring which I really like. The relic BP i think is stil the best for the affect. Lyceaum also the Grinning Dirk of Horror which is the best DW in the game IMHO.HoS has DoN and ASWB so start running those raids as well.

There are plenty of chances for relic drops and the named mobs drop some relatively useful stuff (though seemingly more for shaman and bard). Lyceum has a few nice things as well, including the Sinew Wrapped Long Bow.

Belt of the Doomflight fromt he Doomflight Trio in Labs is also a great belt. Oh and the reinforced bloodsoaked gloves are great from HoS.

Message Edited by Kala Asuras on 01-23-2007 02:16 PM

I have the GDoH and the DoN why would I not want to melee for a brief few while I pop off my melee CAs. Both of those hit for over 1000 quite a bit. The ring procs all the time giving me almost a permanent 26% DPS boost and strength as well. I will take any DPS boost I can take. So you are saying you absolutely never melee NEVER NEVER NEVER. On raids that DPS boost is really nice and basically has me sitting around 41% DPS self buffed all the time. Now the AGI with the haste and agility is a little less useful because we dont need agi and I am already sitting at 71% haste self buffed. Those are still some of the best rings for melee DPSers in the game.

Thanks for the suggestion on armor. It works out great because we are doing a HOS raid tonight and LOA next week. What equipment would you recommend from DT as we will be working on that for the next few months as our big Saturday night raid?

By all means, there are benefits to wearing the str ring, but I have chosen to use an agi ring and the Ring of Relkententinar as that combination has yielded the best results for me personally. Yes, I melee in raids, but I use melee auto-attack less than 1% of the time, and most of that is an accidental result of me not hitting my ranged auto-attack button before the timer for the melee CA has finished. I intended my earlier post to be informative to those who were not aware of that issue with str rings, not as a sleight on anyone's knowledge or ability.

Additional suggestion - try to kill the crab in Fallen Dynasty as often as possible, drops very nice bracers and arguably the best scout pants in game pre-EoF
