<DIV>Hello sorry if this has been posted. i have a 70 assassin, i do enjoy them, but i was kinda interested in making a ranger. if someone can tell me the pros and cons and differences between the play styles, and which is better at soloing, grp dps etc if played correctly compared to an assassin? thx for any help</DIV>

Well really there isnt much of a change from ranger to assassin other than ranger uses his ranged attacks more assassins use their melee attacks more, I've seen both classes be able ot pull their own weight and nearly the same amount of dps just one issue is that rangers pull a hell of alot more hate than assassins which is why ti is essential to keep using your loose aggro spells quite often, we get to stay out fo range of most AEs that the epic mobs can do and basically atm up in the higher ends is more expensive for rangers due to the arrow cost. not much of a significant difference but if you ask em rangers are a more suited soloer than assassins but both classes can solo

you shouldn't have to worry about aggro any more than an assassin does. very few tanks have a problem holding aggro when i play unless i use snipers before the tank taunts. you cannot stand still and expect to be a good soloer. having a lot of ranged CA's does not mean you can stand out of AOE range. it's a common misconception. if you want to do the most damage you need to be within melee range of the mob but just far enough away to be able to use ranged CA's. there are several backstabs that do good dps.
