<DIV>I stoped playing my ranger 9-12 months ago.  I stoped him at lvl 52 and went on to play other characters when DoF got harder than I was use to with a ranger (this happened about the same time SoE dealt with the procs off procs).  I have always liked my ranger but I just put him asside for a while.  But with the new expansion I was thinking about playing him again.  He has 8 aa's in the scout line and of course nothing in the ranger line.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What would you suggest I focus on?  Continuing in the scout line?  I have been going agil in the scout line should I respec to another line?  Should I switch and focus on the Ranger line?  If so, what should I put AA's into first?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>OR</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Should I just rerole and take advantage of the aa's at lower levels now?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Bithnar on <span class=date_text>01-11-2007</span> <span class=time_text>08:55 AM</span>

I honestly think that the agil line outweighs all aa's.. Focus on getting yourself poise, that is paramount to everything else.. Poise is easilly the single greatest thing you can do for your dps.Second - rangers arent what they used to be, you cant go all out and range anymore.. Your going to have to do some relearning, rangers are currently t1 dps right now and many of us are happy with our class.. There are afew issues out there, but things are alright.. And glad to have ya back in the ranger community.

<DIV>i did the agi line to the 35% cast time reduction. it's the best thing ever for any ranger that wants to solo. i then started the multishot line in the ranger tree. </DIV>

<P>Hello there,</P> <P>The poise line imho is overrated, as is the opinion for most of my server's upper level rangers.  Too big a points sink for something that you can work around through cunning.</P> <P>STR, AGI and INT lines is what I went with.  I built up the STR line to cap the melee crit bonuses, built up the AGI line to to cap the ranged crit bonuses and built up the INT line until I got the "poison armor" buff ability.</P> <P>So far not having the poise hasn't slowed me down and I like the debuff the "poison armor" gives on mobs that attack me.</P> <P>Stay safe,</P>

Interesting...What is your equipment? And what is the parse saying about your melee DPS now? And, what is your playstyle - raid, group,  or solo?</div><p>Message Edited by bentgate on <span class=date_text>01-11-2007</span> <span class=time_text>02:18 PM</span>

Yea, I kinda want to see some numbers on this obskure AA selection (no offense).. But if you say its overrated, I am personally taking that with a grain of salt.. But I would love to see how your doing without it.. You never know, you may be right and we may be able to do alot more dps than we are doing right now..  It would certainly make an intersting idea.
