<DIV>Hi there,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm sort of totally new to this game and recently came across the question what deity to choose for my woodelf ranger. On the german boards there have been some hints, but no real answer to my question so I'll try here <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Reading through that and other boards it seems to me, that Tunare would be best for a woodelf, but less for a ranger?</DIV> <DIV>Looking at the blessings one gets, there seem to be lots of healing boosting stuff - BUT (my question):</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Do I get a healing spell as a ranger choosing Tunare?</STRONG></DIV> <DIV><STRONG></STRONG> </DIV> <DIV>Because I haven't one (yet) - and it wouldn't be very reasonable if not - does anyone know?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks a lot (and apologies for my English <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lu</DIV> <DIV><STRONG></STRONG> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Lucirelle on <span class=date_text>01-09-2007</span> <span class=time_text>05:58 AM</span>

Rangers do not get any kind of healing spells, most seem to decide to follow Marr due to the cloak reward. Some have decided to go into permanent exile and follow Rallos but that is something of an extreme move and would have to be carefully considered. From a roleplaying point of veiw Tunare should be the obvious choice, but the cloak reward and almost all of the miracles make little sense from a gaming perspective.<div></div>

Tunare does have some healing God Abilities.  But, like all other God Abilities, they can only be used once and hour and are not free.  Marr also has some healing abilities but has a nice cloak with a str/dps proc.

<font size="2">Aye, it doesn't matter what your subclass is, you'll be able to use the miracles granted by your deity.  Marr has several heal miracles, and I've found them to be pretty handy running instances and such...useless in raids since they're group only, but still. And yeah, you only get 1 blessing and one miracle per prayer, and each of those can only be used twice before you have to pray again, and the recast is 1 hour...choosing a deity based on the miracles is probably not very practical.  The faction points you get back from sacrificing items is paltry conpared to the cost of the miracles / blessings.</font><div></div>

Are there other ways of raising faction with your god besides sacrificing items?  Repeatable quests are what I have in mind...

<font size="2">If there are, I certainly haven't found them...that certainly doesn't mean anything though.  You would think there would be, but I haven't had time to search for them.Anyone?</font><div></div>

Well just by completing the quest for the god you will have enough favor to use each miracle at least once. After that no I don't think there are any repeatable quest <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<P>I went ahead and did Tunare with my Ranger and haven't missed the marr ability at all to be honest.  The proc doesn't work with your bow anyway as far as I've been told, so it's useful, but not as much as it could be. (work on cloak of flames instead)</P> <P>The Tunare abilities have been helpful as a Raiding ranger, I've bailed the group out once or twice with the repeating Group heal and Trueshot isn't bad (although it's not really that powerful, it's good for climbing up the parse list).  I've messed around with the healy-pet thing too, and it's ok, but I prefer the trueshot.</P> <P>As for repeatable quests, the only thing I've thought about (but haven't tried) is maybe quitting your god and then doing the Tunare quest line again, only takes about 3 hours and gets you a good amount of status.  But I don't know if this is possible at all.</P>

<P>Thanks a lot at to all of you - now that thing seems to me very  much clearer <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>I think I'll choose Marr - though my heart's bleeding because I'm really hooked on that whole "Woodelf-Ranger-Forest-Strolling-Bow-Hunting"-thing :smileytongue: - I always play woodelves and rangers if available - so Tunare would have been my favorite choice under roleplaying aspects.</P> <P>But considering your information concerning the blessings and miracles of Tunare (only group, only once an hour, not free... )... eeeehh... no. And besides my favorite Paladin-Companion I'm mainly doing my quests with will choose Marr too, so it would be best. We can do the quests together then and have the same tasks. And a little more strength - why not... :smileyvery-happy:</P> <P>Thanks <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>Lu</P>

I agree about Tunare. It's like they added Ranger skills as an afterthought LOL. I went Marr and am enjoying it, but still have high hopes for Karana.<div></div>

All hail the Rainbringer! :smileywink:</P>

<DIV>Tunare's robe and pet may be useless for rangers, but given that divine bonuses are limited to only 1 blessing and 1 miracle at any 1 time, it's less important if there's a lot of choices available.  Tunare does have 1 amazing blessing and miracle that are very useful to rangers, reguarly used and relatively cheap to purchase.  In my opinion, the best blessing/miracle combination in game atm for rangers ... at least until a few more gods start returning (which we'll eventually see).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Gerdos on <span class=date_text>01-11-2007</span> <span class=time_text>06:48 AM</span>

I did Tunare and like it,I use Growth's replenishment as an emergancy heal.I have saved the group a couple times with that spell.Heals group members 10% of max health instantly and every 6 sec for a minute not bad for a non-healer.the blessings are kinda secondary but there are a couple good ones there.the trueshot one is nice, summons 100 level 70 arrows and buffs your ranged attack.

From my point of view its very obvious:I finished Marr's line for cloak then dropped him and did Tunare quests for blessings and miracles (and wolfsbane as well). Besides trueshot, there are tunare miracle that makes large damage to undead. It is very useful in FTH and MIS raids against vampires.Tesei, 70 rangerDefiant, Runnyeye<div></div>

<font size="2">Yep.  You sure can.  Both have positives and negatives though. The Marr pet gives +13 to str and sta.  The Tunare pet give +13 to wis and agi.  I decided to do exactly what you're asking about.  Currently wearing the Marr cloak, but worshiping Tunare.  I usually sit at close to 800 str raid buffed, sometimes more, so I wasn't worried too much about the 13 str from the Marr pet.  On the other hand, Tunare's heal miracles are much better than the ones from Marr.  I don't know how much I'll use them though.  I like saving all my faction points for the Trueshot blessing. There may be better options, but I'm pretty happy like this for the time being.</font><div></div>
