I currently have a ranger on Nagafen, and I was wondering what type of poison would net me the most damage? Should I use DOT or DD poison? I've always used DOT, hemotoxin I think, but lately I've been wondering if I could be doing better with the caustic poison. Thanks for any advice.

In PvP when fighting a group with a healer, or just a healer in gerenal the DoTs have a potential to get cured. Stick with caustic for sure fire results.

Message Edited by BeatinGuts on 12-31-2006 06:15 PM

As a general rule in PVP, burst damage is always better because it's always harder to heal or escape from/cure etc. As a ranger pvp rule massive up front damage is all you have in pvp. Stealth attack/steady aim/wounding arrow/other shots/stealth melee attack along with DD poisons almost means a sure kill because you have to be really aware of everything and ready to get out of that positioning and heal or run to not die. Surprise them and hit them hard to where they cannot recooperate, if that fails I hope you can run real fast.

I have to agree. In PvP it's all about burst damage. Go with the DD, and use the DoT only if you can't find the caustic on the broker.

If you can afford it I'd use a debuff poison(purple ones) and a snare one as well(blue ones) and definetly GM caustic all the way especially for solo'n. Grouping the snare one may or may not be of much use.

vitality breach is great if you are solo or in a small group, otherwise caustic is best, if you can afford it get gracelessness and fettering
