<DIV>When searching for "fun" to see if the fun spells are good (there not but this isnt about them), i saw things like "Rangers arnt fun anymore" .</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-_-</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>To be honest if you are not having fun why play as them? Didnt your mother always say "if you have nothing nice to say dont say anything at all"?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I dont know much about ranger as i am new, spam me all you want "U knOw n0t3 u n00b" but i also have a lv 18 conj, yeah no great achievment but i got a stealth spell for 10 minutes at about level 10-13 i think, that one spell allowed me to explore Thundering steppes, the harder parts on antonica, stormhold ect ect. It made my life a bit easier and gave me hope to play the game, woo.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now i can say i have tried nearly every type of class, exept musisions i think i have tried everything, monk, bruiser, necro, guardian, paladin, templar, but i hadnt tried the ranger. I started as him and "WOW zomg this rocks!" I get a stealth spell right off which doesnt make me stand around while i cast it, also i can track things, which makes looking for (or in my case, avoiding) all the big nasties. Then i get spells, well skills to shoot people in the back, another nice thing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And i am board now so thats all i will write, the only things i have to complain about is that if i am fighting hand-to-hand i cant jump over my target and stab them in the back, but nothing perfect. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So there you go if you dont like being a ranger, get rid of hinm and do somthing you do like.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>*Prepares self for spams and rants*</DIV>

<DIV>Your going to see that with alot of classes after a change. As far as being fun, I'll let you know when i'm NOT having fun. Right now the ranger class to me is the best possible class there is, yes we have some issues, but so does everyone. Do i think we could be improved, sure, there is alot of room for improvement. Annoyed about Stealth nerfs to one of our major raid abilties, definatly. But you ask me if i'm having fun, I am having the time of my life as a Ranger.</DIV>

I use stealth to get past large mobs sometimes, like getting to the top of the caves because i lag in there and i get killed on the second floor, but thats about it

In later levels, everything can see invis. Out of curiousity, what is the highest level of all your characters?

I used to think only Rangers whined about being Rangers because of the big nerf to their dps. Recently I made alts to do more crafting and I started reading the forums for their classes. The Monks were whining that they can't tank as well as plate classes and their heal sucks. I'm like, if Monks are whining is their any hope for any of us? So I checked the Wizards forum, whining because their nukes draw arggo and they die, Assassin's forum, whining about their decreased dps. So no, its not a Ranger thing, its a forum thing. Plus, people don't bother to complain about things they don't like in some way. If a person totally hated a class they'd stop playing and roll another. Also, the fun spell is a pet Hawk, just look for the Ranger trainer and get the one with the word Hawk in it.<div></div>

<P>Hiya Ironheart</P> <P> </P> <P>Hey dont sweat the "Rangers aren't fun anymore" posts. Check the dates on them, most of them are old and they likely dont even play their rangers anymore.</P> <P>Which is fine by most of us I think. If you dont like something, and all you can do is complain in an unconstructive manner, its not worth reading the posts (not you Iron...the proverbial "you" as in "they"...great...I confused myself).</P> <P>While Rangers, like several other classes, are not perfect...they are far from "unplayable" and not fun. Unless the style just isnt for you...rangers are very fun.</P> <P> </P> <P>Just enjoy yourself and taken every negative and positive with a grain of salt....because its all subjective. There are many folks who play a ranger in this game and had NO IDEA we were so "gimpy" (according to some) and because they paid too much attention to what other people's opinion was...it ruined their gaming experience.</P> <P>It happens to the best of us...it very nearly happened to me over a year ago...I had to take a short hiatus from the negativity.</P> <P> </P> <P>Have fun in game...thats what it is all about. Right?</P> <P> </P>

ranger class is fun even with its flaws some more major than others. With regards to the poster who made the comment about forums...this is why they are here. There will come a time when u need to rant/complain..this is the place <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Other times when u feel that u need help or want to suggest something.Make no mistake ranger is unique, sadly SoE keep trying to put us down. Thing i enjoy most is trying to prove that rangers can do nice dmg( no t8 ammo or sarnak)if you learn your class, whether it be ranger or anything else you will be happy with it.Just my two cents...oh yeh and fix surveil line pls <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

<DIV>All i gota say is that when people say playing a Ranger isn't fun they aren't trying to have fun. I look forward to loggin in and playing my Ranger. If I'm not raiding, I'm out grouping kickin' butt, or solo'n kickin' butt. Granted I have [Removed for Content] my Ranger out pretty well. Mix that with the right combo of poisons, other gear, we can solo with the best of them IF we have enough room. ie Kiting.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've been told several times "Wow, I never seen a Ranger do that. That was kool.", "Your a Ranger?!?!? How did you do that..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You will only get out of this game what you put into it. :smileyhappy:</DIV>

<DIV>/agreed</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>there's never been a better time to play a ranger then it is right now. We're stronger then we've ever been for soloing, still strong for groups, and got a nice dps boost for raids that should keep any high end ranger happy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Enjoy your Ranger, the higher the level the more fun it becomes. Biggest problem we have had is people crying on player v's player servers, that has caused a few nerf's to come our way. Most of us adjust, the rest leave, just enjoy it.

Rangers are a great class and lots of fun - thats why I play it..The only thing thats not fun, spending more on arrows than most people have made in there EQ2 lifetime.<div></div>

I used to play a Ranger in Star Wars Galaxies, but then Rangers went away. I was lost. I came to EQ2 to play a Ranger; World of Warcraft just wasn't doing it for me. I have not been disappointed yet.

<P>A few things I need to say about rangers.</P> <P>No matter what people think, we are who we are. No matter how many times we get nerfed I will always play mine</P> <P>I know I'm probably not the brightest ranger out there but I do know I love my ranger and would give almost anything to keep him. He may not be the best, or the strongest witht he most hp and best raid gear. But the gear isn't what makes the ranger its the player. You come up with your own adventures your own lifestyle, you make the ranger who he is, otherwise he is just a ranger, nothing important or special but just a ranger like the one i saw run by me a few minutes ago. And thats now how I want to be known.</P> <P>Basically what I'm trying to say is the people who think the ranger class suck and is the ranger, its them that sucks and not the class, or else noone would play the ranger.</P> <P>You wanan know what got me into playing my ranger? It was the fact that when my guild raided we had one, and i looked up to her bigtime. She was my alltime favorite and at this time i was a shadow knight, I still love my sk dont get me wrong. But anyways she was the only ranger that would attend raids, actually the only ranger in the guild besides my ranger alt. Well we went to a raid in an instance beneath CT and we fought a named epic x4 boss and he AE'd a hard hit almost killed my sk in one hit. and with only one ranger w elost and i felt helpless becuase i couldn't even get in there and fight i had to burn what little power i had on spells which in the end of the fight ended up being like 20dps [Removed for Content]. And when i play my ranger i never feel useless, everyone always tells me nice dps with good aggro control cause i know when to hold back and when to release. And knowing how to play your class goes a long way. and i felt better knowing what i was doing in every group or solo area, speaking of solo even at my level i still solo +3 mobs with rarely any problems [Removed for Content] but thats why i like my ranger, he is a good ranger.</P><p>Message Edited by Gnome mercy on <span class=date_text>01-10-2007</span> <span class=time_text>12:43 AM</span>

<P>After everyone in the group is out of power, who's still hurting the enemy?</P> <P>A Ranger.</P> <P>What other class can sneak around, target an enemy, walk back to the group, and shoot that target through two solid walls and behind one door without even looking?</P> <P>A Ranger.</P> <P>What class can cheap shot a mob, jump over it, do a mega damage combo, root the mob get some distance and unload a quiver - ALL in 3 seconds?</P> <P>A Ranger.</P> <P>What class secretly guards Qeynos?</P> <P>Rangers. I love choosing my prey, examining the area around me, wisely placing a trap, and then opening up with a well-timed barrage of attacks, watching the mob(s) get caught in the trap, only to be tormented by more of my arrows. Sometimes one of them actually survives to hit me. It is stunned as I disappear behind it, dealing two massive strikes from behind, only to root it and back away for the final kill.<BR>I'm a killer. It's what I do.
