I chose Tunare, she was my diety from EQ 1 and I wanted continuity for a bit of roleplaying. And I thought it fit since my Ranger is Feir'Dal. :smileytongue:

Magius789 wrote:
So whats a good God to pick if you are a ranger?

Brell is pretty much all we got. Half his stuff is for trade skills, but we get some nice nukes with him (boulders fall from the sky and crush your enemies for thousands). His cloak sucks butt, +10 regen and it makes beer. A level 7 halfling in forest ruins thinks I'm insane for picking him and should have went with Marr. But I think of Marr as the tank god, why do I wanna miracle that increases hate towards me?

The Marr cloak is absolutely incredible. A +10 to DPS proc and a +50 to STR proc...and it procs a LOT.After doing Brelll and Marr, I find the miracles to be of limited value..especially considering that you have to keep sacrificing items to get them. Realistically, though, probably the best route would be to go all the way through Marr and get the cloak...then do Brell for the miracles... LOL You could even sacrifice the Brell cloak if it'll let you. It's pretty worthless, in my opinion.

You can wear the Marr cloak without worshiping him? They are gonna fix that I bet.

Although Tunare's cloak sucks, and her pet is adequate (+14 AGI & WIS) .. she has 1 great blessing and 1 great miracle that are usefull in most raid zones.

Blessing = Trueshot: 10% bonus to ranged crit for 10mins, increase range +20, (and 100 treasured arrows if you need 'em)

Miracle = Life's Restoration: ~39k heat dmg to single undead target (yes, that includes vampires)

I honestly don't see that there's anything to fix. It's a quest reward. They're all quest rewards. Countless people have already completed deity quest lines for multiple deities. The benefit you get from worshiping a particular deity are the miracles.Since you can only get the benefit from the cloak that you wear, I don't see this as being broken. Of course, this is SOE, so anything is possible, but I don't think even SOE considers this to be a problem.

Tunare... no question... she's the god of nature/growth and Rangers deal with nature.

I looked at teh dieties and chose mine based on the cloak and not the miracles. I am not going to use miracles nor am I going to sacrifice items to get an ability the is a one shot ability. With that said, I went Marr (as another posted stated). I think this is by far and away the best cloak for rangers. It is plus str and plus 15% DPS which is amazing for Rangers since we cannot buff our dps. Her pet is great to with +14 str and +14 wis. Use the cloak with an imbued str ring and you can hit 41% DPS (i think) all by yourself along with 68% haste that I am self buiffed with.

Message Edited by bentgate on 12-27-2006 09:13 AM

Unfortunately, as I'm sure you know, the imbued Acrylia Band of Strength only procs from melee attacks so isn't exactly a very reliable method of increasing dps. Another case of imbalance when it comes to rangers.

I am playing my 1st Ranger (but played many other classes in the years) and I love my Fae. I chose Tunare and have a question. I am scarificing items that are not needed to me as I can levels etc. I am very close to filling the "indiffernet" gap and I have done the 1st (2) deity quests. Close to level 48, will I get offered another deity quest at 50? and what happens when I am no indifferent anymore.Sorry for all the questions in advanceCheers all !!

So I actually see it proc quite often now. But you are right b4 i got those two weapons I never melee'd
