<DIV>Hey everyone</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I just finished leveling my necro main to 70. w00t! Now, I want to play my lvl 29 Ranger alt, especially after seeing what a lvl 70 ranger was doing to mobs the other day. This kid was RiDiCuL0us! He was kiting and soloing them, hitting for up to 4k with his arrows, and basically just OWNING FOOLS. Now, I'd really like to get my Ranger up so that I could have the same kind of fun! </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Okay, lvl 29, I have all carbonie and a lower lvl Fabled dagger from a long time ago. 1 master ranged attack spell. What I really want to start doing is the solo quest lines for lvls 30-40 listed on <A href="http://www.eq1i.com" target=_blank>www.eq1i.com</A>, because it's hard for me to find a group these days at that level. I've joined a big guild to try to get groups, but I haven't seen any yet. Anyway, the point is, I want to get up, and get up fast.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, I know this is kind of open-ended forum...but where should I start? Can anyone tell me any combinations they've found to be effective when trying to solo, or any places where they've found they are able to get mad exp before level 50, besides the obvious ones that need groups? I know there are a lot of collections to do, but I don't want to pump a bunch of pp into this toon if I don't have to. Any spells I should try to get addy III or master that would help me quite a bit? Obviously I don't want to get them all, because I don't have the money to spend on him. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any advice at all would be appreciated. I've hardly played this toon and if I'm going to, I want to know what I'm doing after all. I don't want to be one of these kids who just runs around and gets in groups and isn't effective. Anyway, have at it! Share the knowledge! :smileyhappy: And thanks for the help and time!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Bowner (yes, that's right) lvl 29 Ranger - Everfrost</DIV>

<P>Hrmm....I dont know if it is my brain being overtaxed today or if my medula oblongata is broken...</P> <P> </P> <P>I cant think of an answer to give you....so in lieu of that...I am going to give you a pseudo bump...real bumps are against forum rules...but I think someone will be able to give some advice...hopefully before my brain starts functioning at full power again (it could be awhile).</P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

Also, learn poisons immediately, I didn't do that and now I am having to do it at the upper levels, which really makes you look like a noob hehe

<DIV>IF yer still in t4 there are a LOT of good soloable quests in Steamfont mountains of the new EoF expansion.. I'd recommend u get at least teh gfay lea ffrom the druid ring there .. coz when yer in qeynos it ain't hard to find a druid willing or almost ready to port there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Good side characters can also do Kelethin based writs.... most of which are soloablle with mobs that are easy to kite.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If I recall correctly your leel range should put u at Kuklei Grunts, and scouts and the bird scavenger and predators.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It doesn't hurt that the grunts there drop language coins worth one gold a pop to the vendor either.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And don't forget when questing.. only blue and greater quests at hand in give AA.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I managed to get my ranger 37AA so far and she's only 44.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I went for the improved pathfinding on the new tree first just coz it's like getting a free guild 50 mount for yer entire grp.. and it helps to be able to get places and more iimportantly run from aggro mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>BUt definitely check out the quests given by gnomeland security .. the guy in the right bui;ding has a quest series which ends up with u getting a gnomeland security cloak that can proc for a 200 pt ward.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also once u reach 33 u should be able to effectively solo some of the giants in TS to get the giant language so u ca start lil tarby lost which is the pre req on the polished granite tomohawk quest.. which I highly recommend.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When u hit t5 start looking into the run here do this quests in maj dul.. coz orange turn in quests give sick xp and AA.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hope this helps,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>CZ</DIV>

The best thing you can do while soloing is to go into a new area and do the quests while they are white or higher. Zek is great for this as there are a variety of solo lines that you can run through and the zone is predominantly solo. Steamfont might be a bit above your level right now. It ranges from mid 30s to 40s similar to Feerott, but Zek should either be doable or almost doable. Zek also provides you with some decent gear through questing, and has many areas for discovery experience which give nice xp.That's another thing you can do. Run around exploring all the places that you can fairly close to your level that will give you discovery experience. With stealth, we can go a lot of different places. I'm sure there are other suggestions I can make, but I have an astronomy final tomorrow so it's study time. Hope that helps some.<div></div>

<DIV>Noob Assassins maybe, I kill much faster than Rangers on my Assassin which is all that matters when i'm soloing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Being able to drop all my bleeds then root and kite while dropping my ranged CAs is way more effective than a Rangers crappy ranged DPS anyways.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Not going to turn this in to a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] contest.... suffice to say that rangers are good dps when played well.... just like any other toon.  In groups I almost always am on top... all the time.  In raids with people who know their class, well I actually have to work to place, but still am at or near the top.  If any class outside of a pure dps class is outdpsing you... you need to tweak some thing.  It might be that the person you are comparing yourself to is much better/worse than you are.  When player skill levels are relatively equal, I know I will fall near the top of the parser (in a raid) unless I am afk or just slacking.  Anyone else who tells you that rangers aren't dps doesn't understand the class.
