Pretty much sums it up. I started parsing my damage this week on some generic labs raids. I see people talking about 1000dps etc. Um..I dont think im playing the same game.I see them talking about using very high level arrows. So whats the scoop on finding them? I just cant afford to buy stacks and stacks of arrows.. Ive been summoning the cheapie ones.<div></div>

I would imagine what you're hearing about are the summoned ammunition from either the Ichorstrand or Bazkul bows that drop in Deathtoll, these when activated summon a stack of 99 every 5 minutes. The "arrows" are flagged as level 70 (T<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ammo.Alternatively there are T7 player made arrows, these do different types of damage but aren't cheap to buy for raiding Rangers, you can also buy T7 arrows from NPC vendors.<div></div>

Yes I realize im posting at 3am - but sleeping probs are thenorm for me <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Dont bother with playermade arrows, they are the same as the vender arrows that cost much much more.. I have done testing for this time and time again, theres little to no diffrence.
The t8 arrows that you can get from Ichorstrand or Bazkul are only supposed to add about 150-250dps and that is with a high lvl bow (which is so [Removed for Content] hard to get). Not saying that is not nice, cause that is nice, but IMO the biggest perk with those bows is you get a much higher suply of arrows. Which again IMO is the rangers biggest issue. If you are having trouble parsing around 1000 (about what I do, which is not overly good, thats with makeshift arrows btw). I would first look into your adepts, get adept 3s or masters for your most used dmg skills, like devitalizing and tripple volley. Secondly group setup can affect your dps more than you like <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> however there are more people out there that can tell you alot more about that then I can. Also there are some posts about use of CAs and timing around. These can help you a great deal.I myself haven't been raiding for too long and can't say I am especially good at parses, but I did see an increase from 600-700 to 800-1200 when upgrading some few CAs and redoing my CA tactics.<div></div>

Im level 70 - for the most part just use our last summon arrows spell (Reclaimed). Do you guys straight up range fight? I find my self doing alot of 'bob and weave' between range and melee. I have a feeling this might be screwing up my dps etc. I run in to do all my melee CA's and then backup to do Ranged CA's. On raids im usually in the 400s. I know I know.. In what priority would you list our spells regarding which to upgrade to A3?Heres a list of the spells I use (not in any order)EludeSurveillanceMortal ReminderShocking ThrustLunging JoustArrow RipSnaring ShotPrecise ShotTriple VolleyConfounding ArrowDevitalizing ArrowAmazing ShotCulling the WeakStream of ArrowsRain of ArrowsSniper ShotLongbladeRanger's BladeEmberstrikeVeiled FireSelectionFocus AimKilling InstinctStupid BirdArchers Frenzy / Dance of LeavesPrimal AgilityCloak of the Forest<div></div>

<DIV>Buffs first (honed reflexes, killing instinct, focus, etc.)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anything ranged. Start with high DPS like rain, culling, veiled, etc. and work your way down. Don't forget devitilizing arrow. it doesn't hit for much but the debuff is critical if you want to get the best of your other attacks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then ranger's blade, longblade, then the rest of the melee.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Cycle through your ranged attacks, run in, fire off your melee attacks while ranged is refreshing, back up or find the sweet spot, rinse and repeat. At 50/50 AD3/AD1 this should get your DPS up to 600-800 even with mediocre gear.</DIV> <P>As you refine your technique, your DPS will go up.</P><p>Message Edited by Gareorn on <span class=date_text>12-11-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:52 AM</span>

<font color="#ccff66"><b>I would say download a UI that shows you exactly what your stats are all the time, like profit or fetish. Then watch to see how much haste you have at any given time and try to figure out exactly how long you have to wait after throwing a CA before your auto attack hits. Much of a ranger's parse comes form auto attack so make sure your utilizing that as much as you can. Use Focus aim at the best possible time and also killing instinct and honed reflexes (you can use use focus aim from stealth as long as your not in combat). Personally after I'm done burning my CA's I have time to throw Rangers blade, mortal reminder and my two debuffs before my archery attacks start refreshing and then I kind of start the process over again skipping the big attacks i do not have to go into stealth to use like devitalizing, triple volley, and culling until the second focus aim refreshes. Then I use use them all in that order. </b></font><div></div>
