<DIV>I just started a Ranger and so far im dying a lot.  Were obviously meant to do ranged dmg but after the mob gets close to me it turns into a sissy fight with us slapping eachother.  I know about kiting when there arent other aggressive mobs around but what about when your in a small area and if you move to much youll pull more enemies?  Im hoping it gets better(only lvl 7) but so far its been a little frustrating.</DIV>

<P>A Ranger's true potential as a bow user does not really develop fully until you approach tier 4 (lvl 30).  from that time forward you will start to 'feel' more like what archtype of a Ranger should be.  Each level from then on, adds to the feeling.</P> <P>Hang in there.</P>

At lvl 7 I don't think he HAS stances yet...Always start at max bow rangeThere are really 2 ways to go about starting a fight: Backfire (if you can get behind them) or Ensnare/Double Shot. When the mob closes: wait until you have a frontal misle attack, use Cheap Shot, take a step back and fire your bow. This should drop about anything in your level range. Keep fighting green solo mobs until you get your rhythm down.<div></div>

Your first step is to assess the danger, if your fighting a ^^,^,^^^ at that level your probabbly going to die if you havent learned to pull yet.. Your going to die.. If you run into a horde of mobs that agro you; your going to die.First.. Remember cons make a diffrence, greens = killable little effort, blues = killable with effort white = you might survive.. Anything after that, your GOING to die..Second.. Learn how to pull, NPC's arent stupid; if you shoot a guy with all his buddys around those buddys are going to kick the crap out of you.. But if you get the guy running on his own (going in and letting one mob see you and running to a safe place) and start shooting him in the head when hes alone you have won the game!!..Third.. Equipment COUNTS! Upgrade your EQUIPMENT AND spells FREQUENTLY (notice the caps), fighting a green mob in grey gear... You might die - depends on the gear... The way gear is done is diffrent than it used to be (after reading "naked tanking in nizara " posts) - gear gets worse as the con goes down to the level of mob your fighting.. If your wearing grey gear, your likely going to die..Everquest was ment to be a challenging game, but you level up at the first levels REALLY quickly, eventually it gets easier to get gear/spells etc but it takes alot longer to level.. Dont be offended by my tounge and cheek comments its supost to be humorious not insaulting - and is supost to help out..<div></div>
