Sweet.. and finally a bow with the new bow model, I still hope there are more bow models to be found.Looks like the devs have listened to many rangers cries about wanting str and int above all, cause the stats on that bow kicks butt.only thing missing I guess is the high max dmg, seeing as most would still use Sarnak over that one.Great work, keep up the good work.. there better be more bows to be found

dropped from the named wolf in emerald halls, with a +piercing damage adorn on it, it raised the base damage, proc damage, and adds extra damage to all my CAsedit: and im using it over my sarnak bow, because of the stats with the new stat cap, and the proc

Message Edited by andbilsing on 11-20-2006 09:07 AM

I'd have to agree I think this is better than the sarnak bow. With the combat changes the increase in stats will be needed. There's not another bow out there, that's been found so far, with that much str and int both on it. The proc is nice and the +ranged is higher than Sarnak has as well. The only thing you're losing is the damage rating, but that loss should be negated by the proc on that thing. Grats on the disco.

Since Im not in a raiding guild,it looks like Ill never get one. Looks like non raiders are stuck again. I cant even seem to find a raiding guild on my server that is looking for another Ranger.Buaf 70/50/2 Ranger Befallen

Very nice bow and I like the stats on it. Toss on an adornment and I certainly see using it instead of along side aswb. Grats on the discovery.

To our non-raiding rangers:

Look at Rain Caller. That would be my recommendation. Yes, the final mob required is an epic, but he's quite easy, only x2, and it's cake to get to where he spawns (and it's an auto-pop, no camping worries at all). Pickup 70's groups have been offing him quite easily.

The rest of the quest can be done quite easily either solo or with a solid 60's group. And the bow itself is a VERY good bow, especially for the level at which it is usable (57). I definitely use this over Grizzfazzle's when soloing (the stun proc goes off all the freaking time, very nice), and I'm going to see if I lose anything out of using it in a raid setting as well.

And, frankly, it's the best looking bow I've seen, bar none. It even has a proc graphic that I've not seen anywhere else (a little stormcloud with lightning strikes). The quest itself is very ranger oriented as well.

I wanted it at first because as an EQ1 Ranger it was one of the essential quests to complete (and also because its an HQ of course). But now that I have it, I have bagged my Grizz in favor of it. As mentioned, the stun is great and it looks sweet. My guild has maybe 9 people active now so unless I join a pickup raid I wont be seeing any other fabled bows. Even if I got into a pickup raid, the chances the drop would goto me would be extremely slim. Perhaps somewhere down the road I do get a better bow from a raid encounter, if so great but if not thats fine. The Rain Caller will keep me happy for quite a while. With that said, I will still get green with envy and salivate slightly at the sight of these raid dropped items.

Shard is right, for the non-raiding or rarely raiding ranger, the Rain Caller is a fantastic bow to get for it's level, Heck even at 69 it's one of the better bows out there.

Nice bow... can't wait to get it. =)

As far as for the Rain Caller... I am going to do the quest just so I can use it for solo. I love my Sarnak, but the stun proc would be awesome. I think that I would be able to kill better solo with that than with the sarnak. I think the stun is a reasonable tradeoff for the extra dps. I don't auto attack THAT much while soloing... mobs close in too close. The stun would help keep them at a distance where I am most effective. I can't wait to try my theory out.

Kinda makes sense LoC would be better, it's from what is probably still the second hardest contested in the game (or what is prolly intended to be second hardest, I doubt at lvl 74 Pumpkin head is meant to be harder than Matron). I would guess if he has a bow on him, Mistmoore would be the place to look for a better bow, though is he still a contested (in MMC) and a instance (in MMIS) mob?
