I have no experience in PvP to help you.. but I do know that AGI is not for bow or dagger dps or anything else related to weaponsWith EoF out AGI together with STR determine our power pool.STR determine our CA damageINT determine our poison damageI am sure some PvPing ranger can help you out some more, but I thought I would help you on your way.

str = dmg for skills and autoattack, poweragi = avoidance, powersta = hpwis = resistsint = poison/proc dmgstr is the stat you want to focus on, it's more important to rangers than all the other stats combined. int is nice on pve but in pvp wis and sta are both better.

one thing you could also do is to do a search of rangers on pvp servers... look at their total kills and then click on their name to bring up their stats/resists/gear and just browse through.

I agree with Skitzo, search for some of the top Rangers on the PvP servers and check out their gear setup and their stats..Most of them you will find, I believe, go for Str / Agi over Wis / Int.. but there might be a few oddballs like me.Here is how I run to give you an idea:Agi 4/4/4/6/8Int 6/5/4/8I think.. that's best I can remember without looking directly at it.But I'm spec'd for high poison damage. use a Dagger as primary so I can use Poison Combination which does roughly 200-250melee damage and drops poison resist by 1280. Combine that with having almost 200Int, a 53% DoT / Poison Crit Chance and my Caustics hit almost every attack Criting on 90% of them.. and Hemo Crits about 80% on ticks.. also it helps me to land my Wis Debuff poison which in turn lowers all resists including Poison and Heat (2 primary attacks we get).. and helps my Ignorant Bliss (Forces target to lose target) land. The last skill in the Agi line helps a lot as well, Poise speeds up your casting time for CAs meaning I can fire off more ranged CAs before someone can break a snare. While Strenght is a big factor in our hitting power and powerpool, without great gear you'll have to sacrifice a lot of other helpful bonuses just to top out your Strength.. which is why I respec'd from Str / Agi line to Agi / Int line.Planning on getting Max Trapping with Hook Arrow along with increased Focus Aim, Enhanced Caustic, Enhanced Defensive, and dumping the rest of the points into CA upgrades.I tried the Defensive-spec'd ranger.. and while it's good for Solo'ing (+34Parry from Str Line, +Run Speed, +Sta Line).. it's fairly useless for PvP. the 34parry does help avoidance a lot but it hurt my raw power too much.My advice is like Skitzo said.. check the ranger leaders, see how they're built.. and experiment yourself in the lower levels with gear and such.. find a playstyle you're comfortable with and build around that.

Imo, STR and STA are the 2 most important. You do want some in AGI though for increase in power pool/slight avoidance boost.

As far as our DPS, STR has the most weight out of any of our stats for DMG. Couple that with a good bow, and correct tier Ammo (no tin arrows :smileyvery-happy: ) and you should be good to go

As Far as AA's I went on the AGI line 4-4-8-8-8 the incombat runspeed is nice for trying to get distance on your enemy during the fight and cant go wrong with 22% ranged crit bonus.

Also, during PvP fights poison usually proc less than 2 times, usually 1 or none, so for a PvP ranger I wouldn't stress INT too much.

Virii
70 Ranger
