<DIV>Ok, we Rangers have been complaining for the longest time about the skill we got at level 65, Hawk Dive. We are the only class that got a skill at 65 that dirrectly COUNTERS the way we are meant to fight. In an attempt to give us a sliver of uttility, the Devs gave us a skill that siphons hate from all non fighters in the group and pretty much dumps it on the ranger when it expires.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Not only that, with each attack it makes, it breaks stealth... this means that we cannot use our four best CA while using this CA. (hidden fire, ranger's blade and sniper's for the pure dmg and emberstrike for the frequency at which we ca  use it) They had a great fix in for it... for as long as it was out, stealth moves did not require stealth.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But as with many times before, SOE broke their promise that PVP would not effect PVE, they reverted it back to the useless state at which it previously was. Yay for SOE screwing Rangers over again!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This is your friendly neighborhood ranger with no utility and still not the best dps signing off.</DIV>

<P>Agreed.  If PvP doesnt like it...dont change it for them.</P> <P> </P> <P>You stated before the line drawn in the sand between PvE and PvP and that the line would not disappear for convenience sake.</P> <P> </P> <P>Prove it now.</P> <P> </P> <P>I am so tired of StreamoA and Hawk Dive.  If you wont fix them...then give us two more fluff spells at least...then even though they arent useful they can be entertaining.</P>

<P>Fear not... Hawk Dive has been uberised on EOF beta. Read the threads on it in the Ranger forum (non beta). I believe now it siphons hate as well as allows you to do stealth attacks as long as the Hawk is up (without the need to go into stealth). My ranger is too low to comment further, I will leave it to the higher level raiders to confirm.</P> <P>Sark.</P>

<P>Bummer - sorry for getting peoples hopes up. What was so overpowering in the new version ? 20 odd seconds of stealthed attacks that did not require you to be stealhed considering how long the recast timers are on Ranger CA's doesn't sound unbalanced to me.</P> <P>Sark.</P>

<DIV>Just to put this into perspective, I shall use wizards as my example.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Imagine this all you finger wigglers out there, if SOE gave you an anti hate spell that in exchanges makes it so that you can't use any spells with cold damage for 30 seconds. That is pretty much what SOE gave us with Hawk Dive.</DIV>

It's not like we were going to be going out soloing heroics with this. Even on grey heroics with the change it had limited uses. And it can hardly be called overpowering. When I can watch a 63 monk stand toe to toe with a heroic just one level lower than it and come out only down a quarter of health, while I can kill a green heroic by kiting it for ten minutes if I'm lucky, then giving rangers a skill like this is NOT overpowering.</div>

As another Ranger put it on the Ranger channel yesterday, every other DPS class gets an ability to improve their damage at level 65, ours actually reduces our damage considerably. With the refresh on the Combat Arts that require stealth this was not an overpowered change. This actually made a generally useless CA actually worthwhile and I can only hope that it's a bug, especially after we had a rare visit to our board by a developer about this particular CA change.<div></div>

as a beta ranger and ranger main i can say they played with us, the part when a dev came into our forums and told us to give him our point with the change on the skill was the best, well its not fair <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>K, I too have now lost hope that it's an error and think they changed it it back. Be it for PvP or whatever, I don't care. But it would be hell of nice thing if IT JUST WOULDN'T BREAK STEALTH. How bloody hard can that be? It wouldn't be overpowering in any way.</DIV>

<DIV>and why am i not surprised...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i even go as far as saying that they lie to us when they say at least one of the design team plays a ranger... </DIV>

This is very sad news indeed. I had regained a bit of hope in development after I heard the Gimptard bird would be fixed but I guess I should have been wiser in hindsight. PvP ruined rangers in the first place and now it keeps us down - It sad indeed<div></div>
