<DIV>I do realize that this has been thrown out for discussion a couple of times, but i would like a confirmation. My question is: In the sweet spot where you can fire off your ranged CAs and most melee CAs between autoattacks, do you:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A. Fire off Ranged & Melee CAs, ensuring ALL your autoattacks in between are ranged autoattacks     or</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>B. Fire off Ranged & Melee CAs, but use a mixture of ranged and melee autoattack.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV>

<P>I'm not so sure about this, gotta test it more thoroughly. But I think in the sweet spot you are just out of range for mellee autoattack, but mellee CAs, bow CAs and bow autoattack land. So I try to get off my bow autoattacks. I could be wrong though.</P>

<div></div><div></div>ermwell, why is it called a sweet spot anyways? <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Just like Jarlax and Gtaubin said... You can use melee CA:s, but you can still shoot with your bow aa (not too close)++Xan<div></div><p>Message Edited by xandez on <span class=date_text>11-15-2006</span> <span class=time_text>01:53 PM</span>

<DIV>actually, sweet spot is between 2-5 metres .. which is the range that allows for both melee and ranged CAs or auto attacks,  If  you use a melee CA, it will revert to melee auto attack, or ranged CA will revert to ranged auto-attack ... so need to pay attention as to which is activated.   Moving beyond 5m, your no longer in the sweetspot and technically only ranged.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>mmmm, to be honest, i'm not 100% sure if your melee auto attacks actually hit within this range, (i just assume they do) .. but melee auto attack is active.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I still have my autorange button on my hotbar. It's easy enough to see if it's active or not. I'm actually surprised at how often I actually do need to turn it on.<div></div>

<DIV>Hmm actually after doing a little testing it seems that in the "sweet spot", only ranged autoattacks go off, and if you do any melee CAs, it will revert to melee autoattack.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now if that is established, the question is whether you should ensure all your autoattacks are </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One, ranged attacks   or </DIV> <DIV>Two, a mixture of ranged and melee autoattacks </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>to ensure optimum dps?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For my case, i'm using Sinew bow, Dirk of Negativty in primary & Absolution in secondary. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If the answer is Two (mixture of ranged and melee autoattacks), would it change should the ASWB & DT Bows finally drop for me?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks again! :smileywink:</DIV>

<DIV>Is there a distance where we can melee auto-attack, yet still use our ranged CA's?</DIV>

<DIV>So while in the sweet spot after firing off all ranged CAs and moving to melee CAs do you, 1. fire melee CA hit bow auto attack then next melee CA hit bow auto attack etc or 2. do you fire off all melee CA as fast as possible then him Bow auto attack?</DIV>

<DIV>In some instances you might want to be in the "sweet spot" but personally I would never really worry about my melee auto attack or even most of your melee combat arts. Casting a melee combat art cancels your bow auto attack and even if you add up the combat art's damage and your auto attacks damage (no matter what you are wielding) it wont come close to a single bow auto attack. I think the only melee combat arts I use are Ranger's Blade and I keep refreshing Mortal Reminder when I have to but both those attacks have a decent range on them. Occasionally you'll run into a mob that is immune to all physical damage for a set period of time and that is a different story, then i guess ember strike and shocking thrust would apply. I think the actual delay on my bow with the set up I have is like 2 seconds and it usually crits between 3-5k on auto attack. Even if your using Grizzlefazzle there a lot of ways to get your haste high enough so that using anything but your bow would be a waste of DPS. </DIV>
