View Full Version : A really good idea on how to fix Hawk Dive!

<DIV>You know, it just struck me how easy it would be to fix the stealth break issue with Hawk Dive, and the devs don't even need to change Hawk Dive its self!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>How does that work? Simple, we had an extra effect to our Shroud line of buffs that makes it so that pets do not break stealth! Oh and for a little sugar coating, make it so that AOE's not directly targetting the ranger have a 50% less chance of breaking stealth!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, what do you guys think?</DIV>

i think the no-stealth thing is more of a  broken mechanic than an intended consequence.

<DIV>No, they have mentioned before that it is intended, pets attacking break the stealth of every class, not just rangers. If you've ever had a necro/conj, you would know that if you are invis and send your pet to attack a mob, the second your pet hits the mob, your own stealth breaks.</DIV>

<P>Instead of having the bird fly in and attack (causing stealth breaks), it could instead be a group buffer, or a solo buffer.  If the buff is cast at the same tiem the bird is created, and not cast anymore, then it won't break stealth.  What breaks stealth is the bird's attacks and its group hate reducer, which is recast every few seconds.  You could have the bird increase CA damage by 10% and spell damage by 10%, for example, or whatever would be appropriate.</P> <P>You would have the additional bonus that if the bird is just a spawned mob (like the warden tree), then it won't fly in to die from AOE.</P>

So is it confirmed that the new Hawk Dive effect is removed again?? I have yet to see a red name post about this, but I might be missing something. However it is utter stupidity to go out and say something like that, then pull it back 2 days later. And if so why was it nerfed again? I don't really think it is that overpowering.. and I doubt they could have found that out after 1 day of testing. Anyways I just would like some clearification.<div></div>

<P>You might be asking too much for comfimation from a dev on this change back...</P> <P>As is, the best thing you can do with Hawk Dive is to just remove it from you hotbar.... again. At least then, its being useful by not taking up a spot on the hotbar.</P>
