I think alot of you guys ( and im not trying to be mean) are forgetting the whole point of AA's.

They arent supposed to be huge class defining skills like in EQ1. In live if a certain class didnt have a certain AA line, they didnt get a group, that is what the devs had said they were trying to AVOID this time around.

These are supposed to make each ranger a little bit different than another, and are tailorable to each persons playstyle.

Also each AA point spent might not add alot but ALOT of aa points spent can make a huge difference.

to all those who seem underwhelmed, what were your expecting? The Godly AA of Procing 4k damage doom?

As for transmuting and such, i think it's grreat. Ever since eq2 went live everyone was whining about a lack of customisation. This is simply the answer to that.

And yes i remember the days when we could run and bust out ranged CA's at the same time which was fun, but admittedly a bit unbalancing.

I have yet to see a post with a ranger asking for something uncalled for or over powering. As paying customer we have ever right to hope that a new expansion that adds 50 more AAs to be something exciting especially when the devs said the new AAs would be class specific. To look over our AAs and be underwhelmed is what we have every right to do. To hope that our new AA lines brings something new fun and exciting is what we should have expected!

Dear AmnzeroNo, we were not expecting godly instakill CA aa:s or anything similar. We were just expecting sumthing USEFUL. Why? Since we pay for it!Yes, indeed... doesnt that entitle us to make demands? Sure, i could always quit and find another game, but i doubt they want ppl to do that either? So, whats wrong if we complain about sucky AA:s? Yes, i know that i would do find w/o AA:s at all. Thats not the point here. ++Xan

There is no point in stating EQ1 AA's, you could spend more than 50 points in EQ1. Transmutting does not replace class-specific armors you could also find in EQ1.And I am whining since I don't see how the previous AA's could keep me entertained for more than let's say 2 months. I am afraid I'm already 70 with 50 KoS AA's for months now... so 50 AA and no more... and sooo interesting...

Apparently they agreed with our 'whining' and fixed the problems. I think the changes made are very well done and justified

Those [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] whiners! :smileymad:

OH...wait..thats another thread...

So...if I get this right...what we should all do is just be dissappointed in silence...and not offer up any suggestions for potential changes or for future additions to the ranger class...

Why is it when someone complains about a feature...or lack of features...its whining? It is observations made based upon play.

THis is an example of a whine:

I bought EQ2 the other day and low and behold...there was no free twinky in it?!! No one expects you to take anyone elses opinion...so, understand....when nearly everyone rejects your opinion on what is and isnt a whine.

ANd no...I dont expect you to agree with me. I just wanted to whine about you a bit.

But the AAs we've been commenting on did not even accomplish that. Most were so lackluster as to basically be irrelevent, so we'd all end up choosing the same two lines anyway. That's not character customization or tailoring to your playstyle, that's picking the least useless abilities out of a crap selection.

Thankfully, as Teksun said, they've retooled some of the abilities to make them a bit more desireable.

Solo / group Rangers might choose some slightly different lines.

Raiders and min/maxers will largely choose similar (DPS enhancing) skills.

With the KoS AA's you were faced with a reasonable set of choices (as a raider) that are argued over even now - AGI/STR or AGI/INT and do you max the lines.

Mirdo.

All im saying is did you reaallllly expect the new AA's to be that great?

and yes crap, thought better than utter crap, is still crap, it's still better than nothing

would you have been happier if they just raised the level cap to say 75?

also i think that though not that great on their own, when combined with the AA lines we already have, they arent horrible either.

Constructive feedback is always helpful. It may not be seen or listened to, but at least it's there if the devs want it. And yes, the Ranger AAs did deserve a lot of feedback because they were terrible. So were the assassin ones, and now they both look better.

Feedback can actually do some good.

2) Why are you so concerned about how other rangers spend their time? If you're happy with lackluster skills, fine, sit back and enjoy them. Don't come here and tell people they shouldn't be expressing their concerns just b/c you don't happen to share them.

Of course we expected our AA to be nice. Not some utter crapola which doesnt make a difference. Why? I have already stated this on my earlier post. Because we PAY to play this game. We are CUSTOMERS. If you buy something from a store, do you expect to get someting that is a little bit useful, but still better than nothing???

and yes crap, thought better than utter crap, is still crap, it's still better than nothing '

No, you are wrong. Crap is crap, even if thay seems better than nothing, it really is not. If you withstand the crap and get used to it, thats all you'll ever get.
