<DIV>So I just started ranger, and I LOVE it especially since my other character is a woodworker.  But I've been wondering.  How come my stealth and mellee skills outdo my ranged skills?  (only lvl 10 atm).  I mean, I wanna shoot arrows! But I'm forced to be up close b/c my ranged skills don't outdo my mellee skills??  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Does it change later on? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Or is a ranger's purpose to start out using a few strong arrow skils, then run in and finish off with mellee skills?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>How do rangers work <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<font size="2">I haven't rolled another ranger since the elimination of the Archetype | Class | Subclass progression, but unless things have changed drastically. at around level 27 or 28 you'll have a much better idea of what SOE has in mind for the ranger.  That's when you <b>really</b> start to feel like a ranger.</font><div></div>

Get into your 20's get some masters on your bow shots, you will be happy. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Exactly what others have said. Once you hit your 20's and up you'll notice a big change and your ranged attacks will become much better. When you do I highly recommend printing out the spell progression list and plan your CA updates accordingly and snag masters when you can. Also when you get near your 40's start taking a look on the broker for an Obsidian Tipped Bow. I have yet to find out which mob drops this bow and in the last year or so I've only seen three on the broker between both the Neriak and Kith servers. However if you can find it and have the coin grab it immediately. This thing carried me nearly 20 levels, hits like a mack truck and I still used it as backup for another three or four levels until I hit 62 and could use an imbued Ironwood bow.
