I've posted similar topics on other classes that i'am considering playing, so since ranger is one of those i was hoping that i could get some answeres on some questions i've got.- How are the rangers in Pvp?- What do you find positive and what do you find negative about the rangers class?- Do you enjoy playing as an ranger? and why?- Do you find the class fun playing?- What role dose the rangerhave in groups/raids?- Can the ranger solo "okay"?- Is the ranger popular?- Why should i play the class?- Is it hard to get into groups?Also if have any other info you think is interesting, post it.Looking forward to answeres.Thanks in advance =)

Despite the rollercoaster ride, Rangers will always remain a popular class to play. - Why should i play the class? Play a class you want to play and enjoy. Rangers dont suit all players, and to really excel as a ranger, you really have to work harder then other classes. - Is it hard to get into groups? I've read posts where people find it hard to get groups as a ranger. Most of those were early on in KOS. Don't think it should be difficult. Personally, i've never had a problem finding a group. Also if have any other info you think is interesting, post it. Lots of useful links/info on rangers. Find a few (sticky) threads, read through those. I posted a few months ago (see. Should just pick a class you are happy to play, if you are picking a class based on some attribute that may or may not change in the future you will probably be disappointed. Rangers imo just have great DPS similar to wizards, the draw backs between the 2 wizards offer group buffs where the ranger has none, but when out of power wizards with their wands or daggers are pretty much useless where rangers autoattack still deals out pretty good damage.BTW have a 70 ranger and he is a blast to play.

This basic essence of a ranger is, point me at something and i will kill it. There is a lot more involved than that but thats the basic idea. We dont have to worry much about how the group is buffed as we have one group buff. Rangers do take a lot of time, effort, lots of money to maintain and play but the reward is defiently worth it. <div></div>

- How are the rangers in Pvp? in low levels not really brilliant in my eyes because he is not the best class in a toe to toe fight due to his bow combat arts which need a certain distance to the enemy. but in a good mixed up group he can do fine with his ranged attacks. - What do you find positive and what do you find negative about the rangers class? positive: his ranged attacks that can be used during running. he is perfect for chasing enemies in pvp that try to run away! negative: too many people are playing this class. too may rangers around lfg and too expensive masters etc. for this class. - Do you enjoy playing as an ranger? and why? i stopped xp at 19 and have to say that it is ok to play but lacks a bit diversity in my eyes. - Do you find the class fun playing? was more fun with my warlock. - What role dose the rangerhave in groups/raids? in groups in pvp: being the tracker and being the one who first strikes from range, than make dps and chase fleeing enemies. - Can the ranger solo "okay"? in pvp not really - that's my opinion with a low level ranger. might geht better in higher levels. - Is the ranger popular? too popular. everyone seems to play a ranger. it's quite boring in my eyes. ws much better with the warlock. gave you more individuality. - Why should i play the class? to be the 30th ranger currently online in a certain zone. - Is it hard to get into groups? <DIV>well, the job of the ranger might be already blocked by let's say one of the countless other rangers around?</DIV>

But I dont play PVP all that much. They might be popular over there. - Why should i play the class?If you want to be a damage dealer go assassin. If you want utility I think Brigand or Swashy are ok. If I knew back at lauch that SOE was going to castrate Rangers I would have gone different. As alot of us know we were crap pre LU13 then we immerged. Mages and assassins cried and cried until we got wacked LU20 Now we are back to crap. SOE gave us some bells and whistles to keep the community passified for awhile. Here is a good thing for you. Take my answers with a grain of salt. What sucks about Rangers is the weapon requirement that is needed to compete with most other DPS class. - Do you enjoy playing as an ranger? and why? Yes I continue to enjoy playing my Ranger. I have played several other classes and I have found this one to be the least boring of the lot. To play a Ranger properly requires a great deal of movement and constant activity, which keeps me involved. - Do you find the class fun playing? I have always found the class fun. I have played since the beginning and at no point has my class not been fun to play. - What role dose the rangerhave in groups/raids? In raids its all about the damage. In groups I often play tank while 2boxing a mystic. However this greatly reduces my DPS since I have to mellee 80% of the time (this is where lunging joust becomes such a great skill). - Can the ranger solo "okay"? We can solo ok. Actual solo mobs are no problem. Heroics that are maybe blue or less are possible, but anything greater will likely eat you alive. Now I don't kite so those that do might be able to take higher mobs, but after 4 years of kiting in EQ1 on my wizard, I would prefer to avoid doing so here. - Is the ranger popular? There is still alot out there, but now that its hard to get high DPS numbers I figure our numbers are dropping. At least I hope so. - Why should i play the class? That entirely depends on how you want to play. If you want a class that stays close to the mob, thats not a Ranger, if you want a class that can stand where ever they want and do the same dps, thats not a Ranger, if you want a class that has to move around constantly depending on what CAs are up, thats a Ranger. - Is it hard to get into groups? I've never had a problem getting groups. But then I haven't really had to look for a group for some time, since I'm one of those people that race to the next level cap. However on the rare occasions I do go LFG it usually doesnt take long for someone to give me an invite. Also if have any other info you think is interesting, post it. Unlike some people think, Rangers can do very good DPS. But unless your planning on being a hardcore raider going after the best bows in the game, you will likely not beable to stand toe to toe with a similiarly matched Assassin/Rogue/Mage. But then if your not planning to raid does it really matter if you do a little less DPS than other members of your group? If groups are looking for DPS and pass up a Ranger (which I personally havent seen to be the case) then they are complete fools. Now I will admit while playing my Mystic in groups, I have met alot of really stupid Rangers that make me not want to invite another one, and this coming from a hardcore Ranger fan. I've turned 12 with my Ranger now, so far so good.Was afraid for a minute there, when i only saw "bad" replys about the ranger, but then i saw your reply Marcuzs <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />So thanks for the "thumbs-up" reply on the ranger.Think i will continue playing my ranger and see how far i get, and i'am really looking forward to get to use the bow more, because there is awful a lot of melee skills i get and few bow skills at my lvl.Thanks for all the replys so far.
