Tips for fighting Shay Tivati a quest druid

OK, could use some tips from Hunters on fighting her and a general question.

Rangers: I am fighting her toe-to-toe and winning 50% of the time with ok equipment (you can see me on EQ2players to see armor list), I have expensive food with the best stats for less then 1 gold each (food/drink) for my regen. But every fight seems to come down to the last swing and if I have the energy. It's always a sliver left on her bar, 1 more swing when she beats me, and as for the pets...

I have noticed that sometimes she does not wait for me to regen before attacking me, neither do the pets. I can kill the pets fairly easy if I get to regen, I have moved away from her and the pets to rest, used stealth on and off to test if that is aggro-ing them to no avail, it seems random for them to come after me while I am at low health and then it's stun them and run and start over or die. Range/distance does not seem to matter nor does making sure I am at a dead-stop befor the pet is summoned, they still seem to either stay or attack me with no pattern, rhyme or reason.

Quest: http://eq2.allakhazam.com/db/guides.html?guide=768

This is the drill for me:

Stealth in-

Speak to Shay

Go behind her after she has finished talking

Shadow Leap (Master)

Hero Opp

Cheap Shot (App III)

Lunge (App IV)

Shocking Strike (App III)

Trap

Bleeding Cut (App II)

Ensnare

Hero Opp

(Repeat) Either she or I am dead.

Rest up (If I am allowed to)

Sleath

(Use same as above on pets- no contest, pet dies)

Soooooooo.....

Should I use distance (arrows)? Is my hand-to-hand attack above flawed?

And does anyone know why the pets/she is attacking before I regen and after I move to a different spot and stop? (New server rule?)

Of course feel free to flame, call me a noob/nub or loser, because between those post maybe I can get some real advise.

Traytor "Dark Eagle"

You dont have to use ranged attacks if you believe you can do better without.
Which usually isnt the case thou. But, if you have very little room etc etc...

Its also somewhat dependant of your lvl.
If you the 10s ranged/haste/DPS/critical buff, well... that + ranged autoattack >>> than any other CA dmg (except snipers shot and Storm/Rain of arrows)

but... you do it like you want it, and i do it my way, kk?

++Xan

Yeah, I felt like I stepped into the wrong game forum somehow... I've never heard of this mob, or that class... in EQ at least.

So I'm not much help here, sorry!

LOL Sorry, I was a 18 "Ranger" but I was recently re-seduced back to EQ2 after friends got tired of WoW and begged me to come back. I am now a 23 Hunter and just focused on levelling for a while to upgrade my equipment. Once I finish this quest and make it back to FP I will be an Assassin tho' so I guess it's all good! Thanks for the help!

Traytor "Dark Eagle"

23 Ranger/Assassin

Excellent advice and it was what made the difference, my gear was lvl 10 and my spells needed upgrading bad, thanks to great advice from ppl/forums where I posted the questions on, it is done! And of course the Exile who gave me the 4 gold.. without which I could not have upgraded! Thank you!!!

This has been an eye-opening experience, I did the Betrayal quest years ago, I believe when it was first available and I have an Orge Pally, but that was PvE and I had lots of ppl happy to help me in Antonica.

Doing the quest on a PvP server while being constantly CONSTANTLY ganked by Goods, Evil and Fellow Exiles was a challanging and worthwhile experience. If nothing else it teaches patience, keeping a good attitude and gave me the feeling I was back in High School and everybody wanted to kick my [Removed for Content]! There is no where to go to feel safe! LOL

It's called Haven for a reason! And considering the entrance are in the middle of zones with 25-35 level mobs, getting home is another challenge!

My hat is off for those who stay Exile, what a free feeling, it's the closes you can come to being a sociopath. You don't give a... you just want to kill everyone! I think if you start to find EQ2 a bit routine or boring you need to betray on a PvP server..

Oh yeah..... it's on!

Traytor "Dark Eagle"

24 Frog Assassin
