Curious to hear if anyone has tried any of these out. Theoretically our poison procs are considered hostile spells, so I would assume the spell proc items should trigger off our poisons. I haven't tried it but was wondering if anyone has. I would assume the proc rate is low since it would be something like 7% chance when ever a poison procs and thats only 25% at that, being something close to 1-2%.

Anywho...there are quite a few spell proc items out there like BCG and such, would like some feed back if any one has experience trying this.

Thanks,

-Katsugen

I was planning to test the Mystical orb (caster orbs collections quest) this weekend for this very reason. But only if I raid or group. I'll let you know if I do. There would also be a lot of other proc gear we could wear if it's true..

I was wondering the same thing, as there was an item (in Deathtoll I believe) that proc'd off spells, and seemed very nice. Wish I could remember what it was now... maybe some day, if we get all our mages one, I can pick one up for next to nothing and find out. In theory, poisons could trigger the item proc as they work the same way a spell would. Even mentioned it to our GL and he pondered it a bit. At the very least, its worth taking a look at.

Mystical Orb does not proc off of our poison procs.

I've seen it proc, but could not figure out what it was that caused the proc, i'm suspecting neurotoxic coating triggered it when the mob hit me and it got debuffed by that buff.

In either case, that item it's a waste of space for a ranger.

Rangers have very few spells. Your defense debuff is 1 of them, probably nothing else is considered a spell.

Poisons are magic effects, yes. But they are procs. If you recall, one of the LU20 changes was that procs would no longer proc off other procs. Thus, no spell procs off our poison procs.

As Gareorn suggested, it might proc off our Precision Shot or Blazing Thrust lines, as those are heat damage...but since the damage those CAs do is tied to strength rather than intelligence (IIRC), I'm doubting it.
