Ive read in many poasts that as Rangers we get more of our DPS from autoattack than our CA's. It would be best then to time our CA's. There may be a simple way,but how do any of you tell when your auto is going to go to time the CA's. Do you use third person view all the time or just have a stopwatch or what? As I said there is porbably some simple way that Ive been missing.Buaf70 Ranger Befallen.

I ahve a chat window that is just for my combat. I watch that channel during combat and you can see your auto-attack go off.

I dont know about other players but I never use 1st person view.

As for timing... it just takes time! You'll get a feel of how your bow shoots eventually. I just check out my haste (incase someone in my group is buffing it) and go from there.

I'm still rockin the Ghostly bow of Bylze (treasured longbow, 9sec shot) which can crit for 3k+. The 9 second shot gives me plenty of time for a few CAs even when I'm fully hasted. I prefer the slow longbows for this reason, as no combat art sits unused for too long.

In the end, this is what makes high end ranger DPS much more techinal. You have to judge bow haste, avaliable CAs, the cast time for those CA's and decide what to do without wasting any time doing it. All of this while still implementing and getting the best use out of our haste buff, haste/dps buff and of course the big mama... focus aim.

in game do /weaponstat

will show you..guess.. weapon stats! including the actual delay of your bow after applying haste

Weaponstat is the best way, in my opinion. My bow has a 4.3 sec delay according to that so what I do is usually try to count to 4, or fire about 2-3 CA's (depending on which I use) in between autoattack shots. Another option is to just put a small pause, maybe 1 second, between each of your CA's. If you do that then your autoattack should go off in those gaps for you but your dps would be a little lower that route I think, because you're not firing CA's off as fast as others.

Normally I would just have my combat in a separate chat window and use maybe 1 or 2 CAs inbetween autoattacks, but this could lead to waiting for a bit. So what I have started doing is just spamming my CAs but never queing the next CA. Without queing i

So what I have started doing is just spamming my CAs but never queing the next CA. Without queing it the autoattack will go off between CAs. If you que them there is the chance you wont get a AA between the attacks. Seems to work so far.

this debate really is very subjective to what bow you have, what DPS/Haste buffs your at, and the rank of your CA's.

Either way, auto-attacks should never reach 50% of CA damage, let alone exceed it.

Thats true. I have Grizzles bow and my CA's are all adept 3 with 1 master. The buffs of course depend on the make up of the group.I use my summoned arrows primarily.Buaf
