Looking for some advice

<DIV>I  recently defected over from WoW and started playing EQ2 again now that it seems to be alot more fun than it was when it was initially released.  That being said im having a rough time figuring out what class to play.  Soloing is a requisite with this game being out for 2years?? To maximize potential, at later levels as a soloer at least you'll start as ranged on the pull, then turn a bit more to melee as the mob moves into range of you. With tools such as our stun, Cheap Shot, and the root associated with our Lunge line, you'll be able to get the mob the minimum range from you temporarily for some quick ranged shots. But you'll finish the fight in melee more than likely. I usually end up that way.Jewelers make scout runes for upgrades and jewelery. If you want furniture, you'll want to make a carpenter.

<P>It sounds to me like you are more interested in end game raiding than anything else.  Dirges, Necros, and Conjurers are all critical raid classes, while Rangers are not.  Some raiding guilds don't have any Rangers.  Dirges don't solo real well due to their low DPS, but Necros and Conjurers do.  Rangers are not too shabby in the solo arena either but take a little more skill than the others.<BR></P> <P> </P>

I think the others have covered the adventuring questions, but feel free to ask more about classes if you're still up in the air. For tradeskilling, yes, you can have all manner of crafting alts - many people do. And mail goes b/w cities now, so you could harvest on your highest adventuring character and just send stacks of raws to your crafting alt, even if it's of opposite alignment.
