<DIV>I'm sure this thread has opened up at some point, so I am sorry If I step on anyones toes, but I am a little confused. Are there additional benefits for a Ranger who wears leather i.e. increased avoidance? Becuase I have always stayed away from leather as it has lower mitigation. However, since I have achieved level 70, I dont plan on doing much soloing anymore so I thought a change to leather might look more visually apealling. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Further is it possible to get Rare leather armor with Str, Agi, and Int like my Melodic Xegonite Chain armor?</DIV>

<DIV>There's some raid gear leather with int, but most of it's just STR, AGI.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There's not much scouty group leather.</DIV>

<DIV>Actually, I'm a strict soloer and I wear leather. In testing it versus chain, I've found that for my needs, not getting hit at all is better in the long run. It doesn't matter how good my mitigation is. I'm not going to last long when I'm getting beaten on. So the avoidance for me has been so much better and allowed me a much better shot at survival while soloing.</DIV>

What's the difference between Leather and Chain? 10% avoidance?I am full chain, dual wielding, and have 62.4% avoidance.I s there a cap in avoidance? Some times ago I thought we cant have more than 60%.<div></div>

I understand you'll get a tiny bit more DPS from procs, but the effect is so minute... does it really make all that much difference? STA would be much more useful for soloing, WIS would also be nice if your resists aren't capped.</div>

<P>Well now that I am at lvl 70 I highly doubt I will be doing much soloing anymore as I usually just run instances or raids now. Because of this I really dont need stamina since I shouldnt be taking any hits in the first place and further my resists are secondary as the only time I need them are for any AoE type mobs. </P> <P>Having an intelligence that is 100-150 points above the base amount does have an impact on DPS, and it is beneficial to squeeze out every bit of DPS that I can since I am a DPS class.</P>

<DIV>If you get your raid INT up over 300, your GM Caustic poison will often crit for 1200-1300, and with a 53% chance to crit, this is pretty significant (62% if you have a trouby in your group).  If you don't go with the INT line of AA, then yes, INT probably isn't that important to you.  Personally, I love the poison crits.  During raids, my STR and AGI are both maxed out.  I'm working on getting my INT up over 500 now.  I don't know if it's possible to get all three maxed out at the same time, but I'm trying anyway. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Leather, chain, cloth.  It doesn't matter to me at this point.  All I care about is stats.  If I get hit by the mob, I'm going down anyway.  If I have to fight inside AE range, I swap my gear/potions out for the appropriate resists.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you plan on soloing a lot, then mitigation should be a primary concern.  It's hard to deal damage when you're face-down.</DIV>

The effects of an extra 100 or so points of INT is very noticeable on procs, I wouldn't downplay the effects as being minute.  I wouldn't gear for extra WIS under any circumstances, the hit to other stats for the tiny payoff isn't worth it.  If you wind up picking up some free WIS on an item with other useful stats, it's a nice little benefit, but the effects of WIS on resists is really trivial.  Gearing for an extra 100 WIS for example will net a whopping 300 to all resists. Sounds moderately useful, but the reality is this is less than 1/2 the resists provided by a single piece of common crafted resist jewelry.  Since you're only really going to need to gear against two specific resists at a time at most, you're far better off just gearing vs the resists that the fight entails.  The 4 or 5 items needed to get the 100 WIS for an extra 300 resists to all are 3000-5000 or so points of resists picking items for thier specific resist values. <div></div>

Well, if you can get both str and int up its good. But i wouldnt sacrifice str against int after the proc changes. This is of course solo play. In groups / raid its a different story and it depends what kinda buffs ya get. Also, the seems to be some point where teh int gets more effective. Im meaning that if you have it really low (like i do atm) its not worthwile to get it 50-100 points higher and sacrifice str by 50 in the process... Again, solo point of view mainly here.Have to get few more lvls / better gear/ more AP:s to test the int properly myself.++Xan<div></div>
