<DIV>1. Why do ALL scouts get tracking? What exactly does a pirate or bard need with tracking? should be a predator line only</DIV> <DIV>2. If rangers live in the glade how is it a bard can beat a drum while in the wilderness and outrun me?</DIV> <DIV>3. In terms of raw damage we got the raw deal unless we are very fortunate to have raiding buddies that take pity on us.. why do we have to be scrapin the barrel as it were to do the damage our counterpart does?</DIV> <DIV>4. Why is there a lack of decent bows to be found on quests.. Rangers are broke most of the time due to arrow costs and cannot afford the rares for a good bow every 10 levels.</DIV> <DIV>5. Last but not least. How exactly is a ranger unique from the other scouts other than ranged specials which in some cases is not a very good idea to seperate yourself from the group.. How about some utility?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have been playin for nearly 2 years and while the ranger was broken and godlike pre LU24.. the last patch completely [Removed for Content]'d our class in terms of solo and casual group play. I am appalled that we were considered overpowered yet I just watched a wizard root and rot an even conned level 50 ^^^ heroic giant in lavastorm. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I saw the parser info and the only reason those numbers were NOT valid is because normal weaponry that non-raiders get cannot dish out that type of damage. A heavily twinked and equipped ranger with alot of tradeskill brothers and sisters might be able to do those kind of numbers but on the whole we cannot.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If I wanted to play an assassin I would so betrayal is out of the question. How about giving rangers one thing that other scouts do not have.. The ability to catch and train animals in the wild and use them. Not wanting WoW here but something has to give eventually. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thanks </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Kinda odd that yer bothered by this altough it does make soemwhat sense maybe we should have an addition to pathfinding that gives us like 20% faster running speed while on nature grounds (not in dungeons or any other built or created grounds) so this would speed us up in areas like feerrot or commonlands or even TT think that makes sense but the game mechanics might eb a lil tricky to do so! Altough iu still dont see the part where it should bug ya that a bard outruns ya!</P> <P>3. If ya compare an assasin and a ranger in raw DPS then the assasin has the better deal at this point altouhg there is a huge difference! which i think makes up for that 15% to 20% difference. Which is we get to shoot from ranged and kill mobs b4 they even touch us assasins have to stand toe to toe to deal their ultimate damage. Also on jousting raids (read aoe) you are able to do damage from max range and still joust in which makes you a better choice then an assasin. And about that wizzy ya say root / nuke = snare / shoot its the same concept just different in the execution and ya need a lil more room then a wizzy but again there is a difference which is tehy wear cloth we wear chain which evens it out again. </P> <P>4. Are you broke cause of arrow cost? what do you do XP with the best arrows ya can find? I use summoned arrows for everything and have it M1 so 60 arrows per hit sure that cant keep up with the immense amount we use but if ya click it everytime its up even while questing and looking for certain updates(while not killing) you should stack up quite a pile or while crafting perhaps! As soon as ya start raiding thats when arrows will really make a difference!</P> <P>5. If ya want utility get to lvl 65 and get that hawk.... Just seems to me yer experiencing class envy since the ranger class isnt as godly as it was b4 Lu24 ! Seems like you want it all DPS / Running speed / and Utility?</P> <P>I rolled a ranger only for DPS any utility we get is obsolete for me cause i wanna do raw damage if i want utility ill log onto my coercer. Altough i must say i have gotten rather fond of my hawk CA.</P> <P>Anyways i hope you will end up being happy with yer toon eventually or reroll and play a toon that has it all! <BR></P>

It goes back to the old archetypes. We used to all spawn from the Scout Archetype and then go out into our settled roles. All scouts got track. When the archetype system was done away it, it was something they kept. Not really that unusual. It makes sense that a scout class can find things.
<P>I agree, Gwyn. I just wish we were allowed to actually <EM>scout</EM> for our groups these days. I used to be able to stealth and range head of my group to send back intelligence reports on specific enemies, their position, numbers, etc. Nowadays, everyone and their brother sees stealth and invis, so the 'scouting' part of being a scout is kinda gone. </P> <P>To the OP: all valid questions, but you probably won't get a Dev response on this one. </P>

The answer to all your questions is the same and starts with an 'S'.

If you're good at gauging aggro range (even if it takes a few deaths) you can still explore lots of places even in KoS. Now granted, I haven't been all over KoS yet, but I've learned that the aggro ranges on the islands I can get to from the Temple Grounds aren't too big and I can manage to sneak around see-invis stuff there. But I used to do that way back when stealth was actually useful (and we had to upgrade it) to harvest in higher level zones when I was a tadpole.

<P>:smileywink:</P> <DIV>1. Why do ALL scouts get tracking? What exactly does a pirate or bard need with tracking? should be a predator line only</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#cc00cc> </FONT><FONT color=#ff0000> Becuase sony seems to have forgotten there ARE no scouts in the game anymore,, Your either a Ranger,or an Assassin, A Troub. or a Dirge, A Swashy, Brigand ,, all at level 1. This was done when they took away the subclass system</FONT></DIV> <DIV>2. If rangers live in the glade how is it a bard can beat a drum while in the wilderness and outrun me?</DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Bards get a better speed buff than we do, our is 16% MAX and does not work in combat.</FONT></DIV> <DIV>3. In terms of raw damage we got the raw deal unless we are very fortunate to have raiding buddies that take pity on us.. why do we have to be scrapin the barrel as it were to do the damage our counterpart does?</DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Your DPS is going to rely on two things, 1) position, both behind the mob, and close enough to use ALL your CA's. 2) DPS is gonna have to be worked for, not just given out anymore. If i try i can parse within the top 5 of a raid almost every mob, but again, i have to work to get those numbers.</FONT></DIV> <DIV>4. Why is there a lack of decent bows to be found on quests.. Rangers are broke most of the time due to arrow costs and cannot afford the rares for a good bow every 10 levels.</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff0000> There are bows out,, I have Splitscar and Grizzfazzles in my inv. as well as one or two in the bank,,, You just have to pick and choose the bow that best fits your play style.</FONT></DIV> <DIV>5. Last but not least. How exactly is a ranger unique from the other scouts other than ranged specials which in some cases is not a very good idea to seperate yourself from the group.. How about some utility?</DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>If you pay attention, you do have needed Utility for any grp, We can debuff the mob's mittigation, Slow the mob down, Even transfer some of the hate to the next person that hits it with melee . We even have a debuff agains heat damage. ( the exact spell names elude me, as i can't seem to get in game right now)</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have been playin for nearly 2 years and while the ranger was broken and godlike pre LU24.. the last patch completely [Removed for Content]'d our class in terms of solo and casual group play. I for one, dont care about parse's or who is doing what damage. Im here to play a game and have fun, so as long as the epic or heroic mob goes down in a grp, I know i did what i could do. No parser is going to show exactly who was doing what at any given time. they dont show lag, or internet latency or any other thing that might cause unforseen problems during the course of a raid, or grp</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff0000></FONT> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
