...and am looking for any suggestions from 60+ Rangers on what Adept III's to get, level 50-59. I'm basically looking for raw DPS (either archery or melee), or even suggestions on other important abilities I may want to consider.

I am 50 right now, but I've got no problem using these for high-50's abilities and holding onto them until I reach the right level.

Aanadariel Falconstrike

50 Ranger

I would recommend using them for 57-59 arts, since those won't be replaced until the level cap is raised.

defitely Archers Frenzy - offensive stance

for the other two.... Snipers Shot and Culling The Weak. Snipers is great for soloing, and Culling's slow mob effect is nice as well. The melee 57-59 CA's and precise and snaring just dont contribute enough to make a rats [Removed for Content] difference in soloing, grouped, or raiding

If you are planning on leveling slowly or tend to solo more the CA's could change. But I am a notoriously slow leveler and chronic solo'er and those were the ones I chose. But others here may have other opinions! oh. and at 60 it shifts to spongy loams rather then alk. A flagerant plat sink in my opinion. I wasn't at the max level, but at 50 and 60 were the next tier rares needed for ad3's?

Yep, what Prandtl said. That's good advice. Stick to 57-59 skills. Which ones? The ones you use the most. I build my skills around raiding, so I always go with the ranged items/buffs first then work my way down to the melee skills.

And, being a Jeweler, I also agree with Prandtl on the lvl 60 skills being a plat sink. They are T6 skills. But now, they require T7 ingredients. And to make sure we don't forget that they are T6 skills, the fuels required to make them are still T6 fuels. If this was the NFL, they'd be penalized for piling on. LOL.

Definitely your offensive stance. I haven't had experience with higher spells, but I would probably also follow the advice you've been given about saving them for higher level spells. Rare loam just isn't that easy to come by, at least in my experience.

Otherwise, I'd echo what Pran says above - you definitely want Sniper's and A. Frenzy, and Culling is a good staple as well. Don't waste the alkali on anything lower than 57, as they'll get replaced prior to 70. At this point, you're close enough to the level cap (and that cap will stay there for a long time) that you should be thinking only of those skills that you'll continue to use once you hit 70.

Archer's Frenzy, Culling the Weak, and Sniper's shot. After that, Amazing Shot.

Err. I guess 60 now takes t7 loam? Scratch Amazing Shot if so.

Message Edited by Xney on 08-03-2006 12:26 PM

Excellent, thank you for the advice :smileyhappy: Culling the Weak, Sniper's Shot, and Archer's Frenzy it is. I have never had an Adept III made or bought a Master I for Aanadariel, knowing they'd only get replaced the next tier. Adept I has been enough. I found my 3 loams while harvesting Sinking Sands looking for Cobalt for armor, and decided to use them instead of selling for once.

Thanks again!

They help a lot with doing damage, or anything else.
