<DIV>Maybe its just me, but i think that the role of the ranger in everquest and the role of the ranger in everquest 2 have changed dramaticly. What happened to the warrior/druid fusion class before? Nowadays all you kiddies playing rangers are more like archers or something like that. i dunno. rangers in eq2 still do the crazy dps and such but i think it just isnt the same.</DIV>

<P>Frankly, I greatly preferred the role of the EQ2 ranger to that of my ranger in EQ1. I had a lot more fun with the EQ2 variety, too--at least until it got neutered. </P> <P>Now, I still like the class--I just don't play the game much anymore because I'm not nearly as psyched about playing my ranger.</P>

Past PoP, in many ways the ranger WAS an archer. The ranger still had good dw fighting skills for closed places, but with the given AAs, they were gods at kiting pretty much anything. I remember being awed by archer rangers in EQ Live. I was glad to see it go that way in this game. <div></div>

<DIV>omg Rinion! Midnight Fury! Sarivok! lol ... and pie</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I didnt think anyone but Majestk and I ( Eumlaen) played eq2. funny that we all made rangers. hope your doing well man. Decided to hang my hat as a ranger when the option to betray came along. To be quite honest i dont regret one second of it either. Have to agree though the eq1 ranger always looked fun you and hoam are the ones who inspired me to make my ranger in eq2. anyways, good luck to ya. Glad to see some of the ole MF still about.</DIV><p>Message Edited by QUACKMASTER on <span class=date_text>07-28-2006</span> <span class=time_text>10:31 AM</span>

I have always liked the EQLive Ranger more than the EQ2 variant, and that definitely includes our heyday, DoF. But I think, as a whole, I probably like EQLive more than EQ2 anyways. I am just tired of playing that game after so mnay years, and while I like it more, that does not mean I dislike EQ2.Funny though, seeing the Ranger issue in both games.. I swear, this is making me think real hard about choosing a Ranger again on my next MMO. Especially if I choose Vanguard (likely to try, if not choose, or run concurrently) seeing as how it is a pet class of a Dev.Merkades, 70th Ranger.Siege, Najena.
<P>So you're saying that the class was implemented differently in one game than in another?</P> <P>Wow! Go figure.</P>

I like my EQ1 Ranger. I like my EQ2 Ranger. They're just different. BTW, I haven't logged on to EQ1 in over 9 months now, but it's still there. I still have my station pass.
<DIV>One thing I miss from my EQ1 ranger, double bow damage against non-moving non-rooted targets level 51+.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Something like that implemented in EQ2 could alleviate our DPS issues.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Anxion on <span class=date_text>07-28-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:28 AM</span>
